“Natukoy na ang pagkakakilanlan ng dalawang nasawing miyembro ng teroristang grupo matapos ang isinagawang pagsusuri ng mga otoridad na kinumpirma rin ng mga former rebels.

Sa nangyaring unang sagupaan sa bayan ng Baggao nasawi si alyas Sisoy na tubong Talaingod, Davao Del Norte. Siya ay Squad Leader ng nabuwag na Komiteng Probinsya-Isabela. Taong 2016, inilipat si Sisoy sa lalawigan ng Isabela mula sa rehiyong Mindanao habang 2017 naman nang ganap siyang maging miyembro Regional Sentro De Grabidad. Mula naman sa Maconacon, Isabela lumipat ng kinikilusang lugar si Sisoy sa bayan ng Baggao Disyembre ng taong 2021.

Habang ang nasawi sa ikalawang engkwentro ay nakilalang si Paolo Macaraeg alyas Tobby, Finance Officer ng Komiteng Rehiyon-Cagayan Valley, tubong Cavite at dating estudyante ng University of the Philippines-Diliman na miyembro ng Kabataang Makabayan. Taong 2016 nang unang makita si alyas Tobby na nagdiriwang ng anibersaryo ng Communist Party of the Philippines bilang miyembro ng Kabataang Makabayan sa Barangay Balanni, Sto. Niño, Cagayan. Nakasama rin siya sa mga tumambang sa safehouse ng Military Intelligence Group sa bayan ng Baggao taong 2017. 2019 nang mailipat siya sa Komiteng Probinsya-Isabela at nang nabuwag taong 2022, isinama na siya sa Komiteng Probinsya-Cagayan.

Sa ngayon ay gumagawa na ng paraan ang mga otoridad upang makaugnayan ang pamilya ng mga nasawing NPA. “

When "activists" become Casualties in Encounters

Statement

19 February 2023

On February 13, 2023, two leaders of the CPP-NDF-NPA terrorist organization were killed in an encounter with government security forces in Baggao, Cagayan. They were identified as alias Tisoy, who is from Talaingod, Davao del Norte, and Paolo Macaraeg alias Tobby, who is from Cavite, and was a student of the University of the Philippines, Diliman Campus.

Paolo Macaraeg is a student activist while he was in UP Diliman.

Another casualty in the said encounter was identified as Orion Yoshida alias Brown, a former student of the De La Salle University. He was left behind by his companions after he was wounded. He was given proper medical attention at the instance of the state security forces. Army soldiers saved his life.

Both Macaraeg and Yoshida were student activists who were members of the Kabataang Makabayan, an underground communist terrorist student organization that was openly admitted by the late Ka Joma Sison as an organization affiliated with the CPP-NDF-NPA.

The authorities are now investigating the backgrounds of the two CPP-NDF-NPA members to determine the front organizations that recruited Yoshida and Macaraeg.

The recruitment process of alias Tisoy is also being determined considering that he is a native of Talaingod, Davao del Norte and is probably a member of the indigenous people's community in Talaingod.

This recent incident is an eye opener to the Filipino people particularly to parents, students, and the members of the academe.

The undeniable reality is that the deceptive recruitment of the CPP-NDF-NPA of our youth and students has no boundaries.

The CPP-NDF-NPA targets our youth for recruitment.

The CPP-NDF-NPA has no qualms about turning our brightest and promising young people into armed terrorists who eventually end up killed, or wounded in armed encounters with the military and the police.

In the end, what the CPP-NDF-NPA managed to accomplish is to ruin the lives and to waste the future of the students, and of the youth, whom they have deceived into joining the terrorist organization.

The threat against our youth, our children, and our students is real.

We ask the parents to be vigilant and to be watchful of their children.

Do not allow the CPP-NDF-NPA and their allied front organizations masquerading as
- "human rights defenders groups"
- "environmental advocates groups"
-"people's rights advocates groups"

to take your children away from you.

Defend and Protect your children from these criminals and terrorists.

We ask the men and women in the academe to protect our students from the deceptive recruitment of the CPP-NDF-NPA and their front organizations.

You are accountable for tolerating and for allowing the CPP-NDF-NPA to infiltrate your institutions for the purpose of radicalization and recruitment of students into terrorist groups and their allied front organizations.

Otherwise stated, it is the obligation and the responsibility of the academe to protect the welfare and the well-being of their students.

Academic freedom does not mean the unabated license to expose, to allow, to tolerate, and to compromise the safety and the security of the students.

Providing an opportunity to the CPP-NDF-NPA and their front organizations to have access to students within the school campus and premises is a despicable act that warrants the indignation and the condemnation by the Filipino people.

We appeal to our people in the communities to stand united in protecting our youth from the CPP-NDF-NPA.

LET us put an end to the terror that has wasted the lives of thousands of our young people.

There must be an end to this senseless and worthless recruitment of our children by the CPP-NDF-NPA terrorist organization.

We aspire for a future for the Filipino nation where there are no more Tisoys, Paolos, and Orions who will be deceived and whose lives will be wasted fighting for a cause that has lost all sense of meaning, and for a cause that has only brought suffering and death to our people.

We continue to hope for a just and lasting peace by ending the local communist armed conflict.
