Acute Monocystic Leukemia.
48 years old female complained of fatigue and pain on all her body which was diagnosed with leukemic infiltration of the gingiva. A bone marrow biopsy showed 89% blasts with positive staining for CD34, CD117, and myeloperoxidase, confirming a diagnosis of acute monocytic leukemia. Gingival infiltration by leukemic cells may be a sign of acute myeloid leukemia, especially in patients with a monocytic subtype. The patient was initiated on treatment with hydroxyurea and chemotherapy. Her gingival swelling improved, and her leukemia went into remission.

Gum recession, also known as receding gums or gingival recession, is the exposure in the roots of the teeth caused by a loss of gum tissue and/or migration of the gum margin from the crown of the teeth. The most common cause of gum recession is periodontal disease and brushing way too hard.

A very common way to treat gingival recession is gum grafting, where areas of gum recession can be regenerated with new gum tissue using a variety of gum grafting procedures, and performed by a dentist or a specialist in periodontics (periodontist).

Managing asymptomatic wisdom teeth🦷

If impacted wisdom teeth aren't causing symptoms or apparent dental problems, they're called asymptomatic. Some disagreement exists in the dental community about how to manage asymptomatic impacted wisdom teeth.

You'll receive instructions for caring for wounds and for managing pain and swelling, such as taking pain medication and using cold compresses to reduce swelling .
