How Much Salary will you receive this Holy Week?

The holy week is the observance of the following holidays: Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Black Saturday.

In relation to the Philippine Labor law, how much salary will you receive during these holidays?**

March 28 and March 29, are considered regular holidays. You will receive 100% of your salary even if you did not report to work. If you worked, you will receive a double pay. The formula if you worked is 200% x (Basic Pay + COLA (if any).

March 30, is a special non-working holiday. It means that you will not receive any payment if you did not report to work (No work, no pay).
If you worked, you will receive an additional 30% of your salary. The formula is 130% x (Basic Pay+COLA (if any)).

Any employee, regardless of religion, can enjoy this benefit.

**Subject to exceptions.

Bar examinees from Visayas and Mindanao have the option to choose whether to take the bar exam in Manila or Cebu.

Bar Matter No. 3490 stated that simultaneous Bar Examinations will be held in Cebu for law graduates from Visayas and Mindanao.

The resolution was made after a survey was conducted last February 2020 by the Philippine Association of Law Schools.

Good news Everyone!

Good news!

Because two regular holidays (Araw ng Kagitingan and Maundy Thursday) fall on the same day, employees who will report to work on April 9, 2020 are entitled to 300% of their daily wage rate, according to the National Wages and Productivity Commission.

Meanwhile, those who will choose not to work will receive 200% of their daily wage rate.
