The latest at Joy School Baguio sees discovering the joy of spontaneous delight! Grown-ups could use some re-learning how to be silly as we thread life's challenges--- laughing and smiling and giggling as we go!

Joy School Baguio kids have been busy these past months learning about the Joy of Confidence! Such a big word (and concept!) Confidence is something that we all need!

In these pictures, we made green eggs and ham and tried eating something that could scare some people (but not us!), just like in the book Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. Then we wrapped up the learning theme with a self-portrait of one thing we are good at!

Order precedes beauty. Even colors follow an order to make a beautiful rainbow. :)

The one thing we are extremely happy--and a bit proud-- about at Joy School is that kids get to read amazing books together. :) These books help shape their character in finding joy in goal striving!

And here they are just cooling it off a sunny day. Without being prompted ahead of time - these lovely girls just decided it's a great day for sunnies. I loved seeing the joy of friendship there despite us only seeing each other virtually most of the time!

Amazing start to the year for our Joy Schoolers! This month, we are learning the Joy of Setting Goals. Here, the kids have created a goal chart which presents the spiritual, intellectual, social, and physical goals they'd committed to work on throughout the year!

Wrapped up another joyful week with these beautiful kids, and Mia and Xhan who joined us from Monday to Wednesday. :) Today, we shared the book, "The Little Engine That Could" which teaches about persistence!

Sofia also read to us a sweet book on Dear God: Family!

Happy Freaky Friday folks! It's that time of the year and our Joy Schoolers didn't miss out on the spooky festivities! Sharing pictures of our Virtual Halloween party!

Always appreciate our parents' effort in prepping their kids for Joy School activities!

This year we welcomed Princess Elsa, Princess Snow White, the fierce leopard, and cute little pumpkins. We also had one of the dynamic duo Men In Black visit us!

The highlight of the activity was doing a virtual scavenger hunt for the treats!

We've incorporated Ted Ed Earth School into our learning journey, with the children learning about how everything we do impacts the planet and what we can do better to take care of it!

This was a fun-filled week at Joy School Baguio! We planted super seeds, met pet friends, and talked about how amazing our earth is! Week after week as we read together, we are also getting closer to our goal of !

At a time when we as parents are facing the social network or gadget dilemma with children, it's never been more important for us to be involved in their lives.

Salute to Joyschool mommies Nikkie and Justine for keeping on the learning journey with their little ones.

We may not see it now, but just like the little seeds we planted this week, the harvest of our efforts for molding joyful children is sure!

We welcomed October with a brand new unit on The Joy of the Earth!

Did you know? Nature does not make two things exactly alike! That is how magical and amazing nature is!

This month, Joyschoolers will:

1. Experience nature with our Nature Walk Field Trip 😊
2. Understand Seasons of the Earth
3. Explore Super Seeds (and plant them!)
4. Enjoy Amazing Animals (with a pet show and tell!)
5. Care for our Earth (my personal favorite!)

Happy Friday! We've wrapped up another week at Joy School Baguio with happy, joyful hearts!

One of our Joyschoolers, dear Mia, started saying "I love You" to everyone at the end of each class. How very sweet! She's pictured below with her "Feeling Fingers" artwork.

This week we explored our five senses, and how they make our lives enjoyable and how they also protect us!

We also read 5 books together. We are keeping a record of the books we are reading to the kids in our quest to Read 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, a Joy School Baguio initiative!

Happy Friyay! Fridays at Joy School Baguio are Activity Days!

Today, we launched our very own program, 1,000 Books Read Before Kindergarten! This program inspires children to be read up to 1,000 books over the next 10 months with their parents reading from 3-5 books to them every day!

Reading is not intrinsic to us - we are not natural born readers. The love for reading is something nurtured. ❤️

Today, our wonderful mommies read these great books to very attentive kids!

What a great way to cap off our first week at Joy School Baguio!

It has been a fun and busy first two days at Joy School Baguio! The kids learned about rules and how they keep us safe! Arts and crafts for Day 1 was fun when they watched how crayon shavings melt when iron-pressed because even crayons have rules! (They have no choice but to melt when heated).

The highlights of Day 2 were a storytelling session of a beloved P.D. Eastman book, "Are you my mother?" and having fun cutting and gluing shapes (perfect for honing fine motor skills!)

We look forward to activity day on Friday!

Thanks to these wonderful kids Audrey, Mia and Alina and their awesome moms and dad for taking the Joy School Baguio journey with us this year!
