Eczema is a group of skin conditions that present with inflamed, itchy skin. It can appear as dry red skin, or dark scaling areas, or even oozing skin with small blisters.
There are different types of eczema (or dermatitis), including atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, nummular eczema, dyshidrotic eczema, and stasis dermatitis.
These can be mild, moderate, or severe, and can start at any age.
Since eczema can be confused with other skin conditions (like psoariasis), it is important to consult with a board-certified dermatologist to first and foremost arrive at the correct diagnosis, so that an appropriate treatment plan can be started.

Let's clear up a common misconception: Eczema is NOT contagious.
Eczema is a non-communicable skin condition that arises from a combination of genetic and environmental factors. You can't "catch" it by touching, hugging, or even sharing personal items with someone who has eczema.
Eczema can look red, inflamed, and sometimes wet, but this is due to an overactive immune response, not a contagious agent.
Remember, while eczema isn't contagious, it can still impact a person's life, causing discomfort and sometimes affecting self-esteem. Understanding, support, and proper management are key to helping those with eczema. ๐ช๐
Let's raise awareness and dispel myths about eczema. Share this post to spread the word!
CHILDHOOD ECZEMA / AD
Childhood eczema, or atopic dermatitis, is a skin condition that affects many children.
The following are some important facts about AD:
* AD often begins with itchy skin. Subsequent scratching often leads to the appearance of a red rash.
* AD can develop on any area of your skin. However, at certain ages, the rash can appear on certain areas of your body. Among infants, the rash often appears on the scalp and face: particularly the cheeks. For children 2 years of age up to puberty, the rash often begins on the creases of the elbows and knees. Other common areas are the neck and ankles.
* AD tends to run in families. You are more likely to develop AD if blood relatives have AD, food allergies, asthma or hay fever.
*AD is a complex disease. Aside from its tendency to occur within families, other factors which may play a role in developing AD include an immune system that is over reactive when exposed to certain environmental conditions (extremely cold or hot climate) and other factors, namely exposure pollution, pollen, dust mites, animal dander and detergents.
If you suspect your child to have eczema, seek consult with a board-certified dermatologist for proper diagnosis and management.
Rainy Season Skincare
๐๐ข๐๐ง๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ฎ ๐๐๐๐จ๐ค๐ฃ ๐๐ ๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ง๐
As the rainy season brings increased humidity, adjusting your skincare routine can help keep your skin happy and blemish-free.
If your skin is feeling greasier due to the weather, try switching or alternating your regular cleanser with one made for oily skin. Waterproof sunscreens in gel or matte-finish formulations can feel better and have more staying power in humid conditions. Using oil-free moisturizers or lighter serums can spell the difference between feeling tacky and feeling fresh.
Embrace the beauty of the rainy season while embracing your own! โ๐ง

How much sunscreen should you apply?
To achieve the Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of your sunscreen, you should be applying at least a 1/4 teaspoon amount of sunscreen on your face, and 2 tablespoons amount of sunscreen on the rest of your body when going swimming.
Wait at least 15 minutes after application before going out, and reapply every 2 hours, or more often if you are swimming or sweating heavily. Correct application is important for good sun protection!
If you want to remove a mole, skin tag, or other growth from your skin, seeing a board-certified dermatologist is the best option for this.
You are safe and secured because you know they are skin experts willing to help and guide you.
The fractional RF technology is an innovative design that treats the target area through rapid pe*******on of insulated micro-needles without causing extensive damage to the epidermis. Through the action of the micro-needles, a tiny column is created that facilitates healing and brings about a growth factor that develops the mechanism of natural recovery with the effect being similar to that of peeling, but with minimal impact on the epidermis.
At the same time the device emits a high-tensioned RF pulse onto the treatment area. The fractional RF thermolysis occurs in the target area and selectively degenerates the collagen fibers between the superficial dermis and muscle band. The collagen fibres deteriorate promoting the construction of new collagen through a stimulus of the fibroblasts.

It depends on how sensitive your skin is and what concerns you are trying to address. Face creams & eye creams may contain the same ingredients (like hyaluronic acid, retinol, vitamin C, peptides) but formulations vary, and what may work for one person may not work for you.
