The School of Forestry and Environmental Sciences (SFES) held its General Orientation on August 27, 2024, at the Amphitheatre, Ermita Hill. The event began with an opening message from the Dean of SFES, Dr. RB J. Gallego, who warmly welcomed the freshmen and acknowledged the upper-level students. Following the Dean's remarks, For. Mary Jane A. Marigmen introduced the Faculty and Staff of SFES, as well as the Affiliated Faculty.
The program also featured intermissions where students showcased their talents. For. Michelle A. Resueรฑo then highlighted the milestones and achievements of SFES, emphasizing the schoolโs progress over the years. Afterward, For. Novelyn D. Buhong presented the curriculum and policies of SFES, reminding the first-year BSF and BSES students to familiarize themselves with the curriculum.
Additionally, For. Marlon G. Lingon introduced the newly elected AFSC officers and briefly discussed upcoming activities. The newly elected AFSC president, Ms. Sharie Rose Faraon, also reminded students of their responsibilities and the upcoming student activities.
The event concluded with closing remarks by For. Michelle A. Resueรฑo, who expressed her gratitude to all the students who participated and reiterated the importance of the orientation. Ms. Wincel Q. Carrasco served as the host for the program, and the SFES Cash-for-Work team, along with the AFSC officers, assisted in the event's preparation. ๐๐๐

Turnover of 4 3D Scaled Maps
The SFES conducted a turnover ceremony for the 4 3D scaled maps, a project completed by the 4th year BS Forestry students as part of their GIS and Watershed subject. The program began with a message from the Dean, Dr. RB J. Gallego, followed by remarks from various invited heads and personnel of DENR-PENRO/CENRO Casiguran- Aurora, including:

One of the highlights of the program was the signing of the deed of donations.
This event was headed by the Dean of SFES and facilitated by the faculty and staff, with the assistance of the Forestry Practicum students. July 3, 2024, was the date of this event.
Successful coordination occurred on June 19โ21, 2024! The Forestry Practicum Faculty visited various host training establishments (HTEs) to ensure a smooth deployment and endorsement of our students to their respective offices.
FORESTRY PRACTICUM ORIENTATION
The School of Forestry and Environmental Sciences (SFES) Practicum Faculty conducted an orientation for the practicum on June 14, 2024, at the Accreditation Hall. Additionally, Zoom was used as an online platform for students who could not attend in person.
The orientation began with a message from RB J. Gallego, PhD, the Dean of SFES. Following the message, For. Michelle A. Resueรฑo discussed the salient features of the SFES SIPP. This was followed by a discussion on the responsibilities of the higher education institution (HEI), host training establishment (HTE), and the student intern discussed by For. Mary Jane A. Marigmen. An open forum was conducted after the discussions. The orientation also highlighted the requirements that students need to comply with.
