By 19th century, ang Pilipinas ang naging #1 coffee producer in the world! 🏆 Nang tamaan ng coffee rust disease ang ibang major producers, tayo ang nag-supply sa global demand. Pero hindi rin tayo nakaligtas; noong late 1880s, tinamaan din tayo ng coffee rust at insect infestations kaya bumagsak ang production. 🌿🐞

Pero hindi pa rin tayo nagpaawat! Ang surviving seedlings, itinanim ulit sa Cavite at tuloy ang legacy. Ngayon, proud producers tayo ng Arabica, Robusta, Liberica (Kapeng Barako), at Excelsa. 🌏☕

☕ Kuya Alvin has shown unwavering dedication throughout his career, putting his heart and soul into his work as a barista in a well known coffee shop and now to Roots Cafe

⛪ In addition to his role at the café, he has been a pillar of support in the community for over 30 years, contributing his time and efforts to the church. Alongside his friend Allan Condrada, he has served faithfully in the chapel adjacent to the church, now known as Roots Cafe Southwoods—the first physical store of Roots Cafe.
