Himig DYCIan

One of our goals at Himig DYCIan is to establish a community that fosters musical collaboration so that we can achieve the best possible rendition of original songs. This starts with a good song demo.

Here are three tips for making a good original song demo.

This is the “Himig DYCIan Music Studio”.

Beyond being a soundproofed place ideal for music rehearsals during uniquely DYCIan events which involve music, this recording studio will be the birthplace and home of truly DYCIan original songs, both released and “soon to be released”. This is intended to be a sanctuary where the DYCIan spirit is expressed and celebrated through music created by DYCIans for the DYCIan community and beyond.

This would not have been possible without the unwavering support of School President Sir Kel Yanga, who paved the way for the enrichment of the school's culture and arts. Special gratitude to Sir Gerald Francisco for his support in acquiring the right instruments, the student orgs led by Peejay Graal and John Renel Quiambao for their meticulous sound checking and instrumentation capabilities, and the General Services Office, under the leadership of Ms. Shaina Jhaine Tan Lee.

Let's catch a back-to-back performance from two Grade 11 DYCIans from 11-Infinity! They are Vina Regalado and Yzza Ramirez. Catch them live in our uniquely DYCIan music show Unplugged on October 27, 2023, at 3 PM, at BINHI Area. Accompanying instrumentalists would be Josh Laylay and their adviser, Mr. Allan Darcy Gan!

The DYCI Strings Ensemble is back!

Our beloved DYCIans had their first meeting with the Strings Ensemble mentor Sir Kennedy Dasalla! The school also acquired new violins for DYCIans to rehearse and play the violin.

The DYCI Strings Ensemble which was founded years ago is revitalized being part of the larger culture and arts community of the school.

Say hello to yet another new program for all DYCIans called “Unplugged”!

Himig DYCIan will have its first run of “Unplugged” series to be performed at the area of BINHI (first floor of Bibliotheca) very soon. Screening is ongoing.

“Unplugged” is an amplifier-free musical session showcasing DYCIan musicians (singers, instrumentalists, songwriters, etc.), connecting them with the DYCIan community through the natural acoustics of instruments like the grand piano, cajon, and acoustic guitar.

For those interested, you can sign up as a performer for the first “Unplugged” event scheduled for the first week of October 2023!
