coffee n’ croissants ~

So... it turns out, we have no idea how to be served. We both stumbled into the café, not expecting the door to be light, as it was being opened for us. Baristas had to insist that we take our seats and simply enjoy. The servers then gave us a warm smile, a glass of water and a menu; little ~ big things. Then we both ordered croissants bigger than our faces :)

nothing quite like the warm smell of cookies baking in the oven, as we sip tea in a cozy, rainy, afternoon. ☁️☕️🍪

Within the beautifully aged Escolta, “Queen of the Streets” and the classic, timeless architecture of old Manila, and hosted an intimate coffee cupping; brewing a rich variety of their beans from South Cotabato.

The experience was immensely educating. Learning more about the coffee chain and the collective that sets motion to the inner workings of this cycle, we can embrace the love of beans with more clarity, honor and respect to the ones that make coffee possible to enjoy ~ freshly brewed, in the morning. ☕️

The slow burn of their whole process is pure artistry and love for the culture of the beans’ origin. Even the packaging of integrates the weaving tradition called “T’nalak” or “Tinalak”; woven only by the women of the T’boli tribe, who discern the exquisite patterns in their dreams. A gift that they believe is bestowed by Fu Dalu, the T’boli Goddess of abacá.

It is always enriching to be able to immerse ourselves in the orbit of the coffee community. Thank you for having us 🤍 this is a story worth telling.

We will be closing our doors from May 19 - 22, 2023 for the Labyrinth to the Soul Retreat 🌬🍃 The Teahouse is a space of home and healing; we need to focus on intentionally caring for the participants as they are coming to receive. Keeping things simple and pure, we hope to sustain balance ⚖️🌞
