In January, the month was declared as Food Conservation Month under Presidential Proclamation No. 1398 signed by Former Executive Secretary Alejandro Melchor during the Marcos Sr. administration in 1975. It aims to keep the Filipino citizens aware and concerned about programs for food sufficiency.

During Food Conservation Month, the government initiates various programs and activities related to food conservation, preventing food wastage, and boosting agricultural production in the country. It is crucial to participate in these programs to achieve self-sufficiency.

In line with this, the Division Federation Supreme Secondary Learner Government (DFSSLG) of Schools Division Office (SDO) of Bulacan is participating and supporting the observance of Food Conservation Month. Under the leadership of 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘴. 𝘌𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘑𝘦𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘙𝘰𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘢 —𝘋𝘍𝘚𝘚𝘓𝘎 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵, guided by 𝘔𝘢’𝘢𝘮 𝘐𝘯𝘢𝘩 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘧𝘢𝘺𝘦 𝘔. Every January, we celebrate Zero Waste Month, which was declared an annual celebration under Presidential Proclamation No. 760, dated May 5, 2014, of the late President Benigno Aquino III. National Zero Waste Month is an advocacy campaign promoting a "circular economy" in the production and use of consumer products to reduce the volume and toxicity of generated wastes.

It promotes and serves as a platform not only to reuse, reduce, and recycle, but also to emphasize sustainability by considering the entire life-cycle of products, processes, and systems on our planet. 🌎

In coordination of the Parada National High School Yes-O and SSLG, headed by our Principal IV, Mr. Rizaldy C. Pidlaon, led the tree planting activity aligned to Deped Memorandum No. 69 Project DepEd's 236,000 Tress-A-Christmas Gift for the Children.

Teachers, Yes-O and SSLG officers, school personnel with the help of Barangay officials represented by Brgy. Councilor Allan Zuñiga simultaneously planted fruit bearing trees in some areas within the barangay.

November is the National Environmental Awareness Month. As part of the celebration and cooperation, together with the science teachers, reiteration of the importance and proper procedure of school waste management was done.

Last November 30, 2023, a school-based environmental symposium was held at the conference hall of Parada National High School.

We are grateful to the students who allocate time to attend this event.

A special thanks also to our guest speakers, Mrs. Joy A. Nuñez and Mrs. Rhiea S. Hipolito for providing important knowledge regarding environmental laws and policy and climate change.
