The Philippine Coconut Authority Surigao del Norte participated the Provincial Coconut Festival Cocofair in celebration with the National Tourism Week 2024 and Creative Industries month spearheaded by Department of Trade and Industry and City Tourism Office.
The five day cocofair which will run from September 23-27, 2024 at Surigao City Gymnasium will showcase the different local products proudly crafted by Surigaonon.

You can also register for the National Coconut Farmersโ Registry System (NCFRS). Just bring a photocopy of any valid government ID, a 2x2 ID picture, and a Certificate of Proof of Ownership.

The Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) made significant progress with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for a 60-hectare seedfarm establishment at Brgy. Maningalao, Las Nieves on September 19, 2024.
This partnership between the Provincial Government of Agusan del Norte and the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) was formalized at a ceremony attended by Governor Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. Amante, Vice Governor Enrico R. Corvera, PCA Regional Manager Joel B. Oclarit, PCA Board Director for Mindanao Pepito P. Capangpangan, PCA Division Chief for Agusan Provinces Manolito L. Casapao, and PCA Regional Managers and Division Chiefs from various regions, along with Mayors of Agusan del Norte.
Following the ceremony, PCA Regional Managers traveled to Mabini, Placer, Surigao del Norte to visit a shared processing facility awarded to the Mabini United Farmers Cooperative. This facility was established under the CFIDP's Shared Processing Facilities Program, implemented by the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech).

Mabini, Placer, Surigao del Norte - September 11, 2024 - Today, marked a significant milestone as the Mabini United Farmers Agriculture Cooperative, one of the leading coconut farmer cooperatives in Caraga, was awarded a Coco Peat and Geonet Processing Center under the Shared Facilities program of the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) implemented by PhilMech.
The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries from different government agencies. The new processing center is expected to significantly boost coco peat and geonet production in Mabini, Placer, leading to increased income for farmers and a more competitive local industry.
The CFIDP's Shared Facilities program has been instrumental in providing farmers with access to modern equipment and technology, allowing them to process their coconut harvest and produce high-quality products. The program is part of a broader effort to revitalize the Philippine coconut industry and create a more sustainable and prosperous future for coconut farmers.

The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), one of the Implementing Agencies of the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP), conducted a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Handholding Activity for the Coconut Farmer Cooperatives (CFCs) of Surigao del Sur. The event was participated by 34 CFCs held on September 2, 2024, in Mangagoy, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur.

In Connection to the 38th National Coconut Week Celebration, a nationwide simultaneous planting activity was held to commemorate Coconut Week Celebration 2024, with the theme:

Philippine Coconut Authority Region XIII participated in the project at Ragas Farm, Brgy. Sanghan, Cabadbaran, Agusan Del Norte owned by Robin Ragas planted One Hundred Forty-Three (143) Seedlings.
The event was led by Regional Manager III of the PCA XIII, Sir Joel B. Oclarit through the effort of PCA Regional Office and PCA Agusan leaded by their Division Chief Mr. Manolito L. Casapao graced by the presence of the Agusan Del Norte Governor, Hon. Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. Amante, Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Hon. Erwin L. Dano, Chairman Committee on Agriculture City Councilor, Hon. Celson A. Sanchez, Cabadbaran City Agriculturist, Hon. Maria Arceli C. Soria, Brgy. Chairman of Sanghan, Hon. Reynaldo M. Laput, and various implementing agencies of the CFIDP, the Local Government Unit, Farmer Cooperatives and Associations which expressed their usual support to PCA Region XIII campaign for coconut planting expansion. Additionally, Police Major Randy A. Abunda of the Philippine National Police dispatched eight of his members to provide es**rt and support for the event.
Moreover, Provinces in Region XIII actively participated also in the simultaneous planting. Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur and the Province of Dinagat Islands with a 143 coconut seedlings planted in every site.
The PCA Surigao Del Norte participated in the project at Brgy. Esperanza, Del Carmen, Surigao del Norte participated by LGU Del Carmen, PNP, BFP, Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) - Del Carmen Campus, PCIC, LokalLab, Farmer Cooperatives and Association and International Labour Organization and Brgy. Magpayang, Mainit, Surigao del Norte participated by Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) - Mainit Campus, Farmer Cooperatives and Associations.
The PCA Surigao Del Sur participated in the simultaneous planting at Brgy. Liatimco, Lianga, Surigao del Sur participated by North Eastern Mindanao State University and Coco Scholars. The activity also was participated by Brgy. Barcelona, Lingig, Brgy. Buatong, San Agustin and Brgy. Sta. Cruz, Carmen with the support from Municipal Agriculture Office, Local Government Unit, Barangay officials and Coconut Farmers Organizations.
The PCA Dinagat Island participated in the project at Panaad Farm, Brgy. Rita glenda, Basilisa, Province of Dinagat Island participated by Office of the Congressman, LGU Basilisa, Municipal Agriculture Office, CFIDP Implementing Agencies/Partners, BFP, PNP, Wilmar Edible Oil Philippines, Inc., Farmer Cooperatives and Associations.
As part of its Philippine Coconut Industry Development Plan 2024-2034, the Philippine government aims to plant 100 million coconut trees by 2028. To support this ambitious goal, President Ferdinand R. Marcos has recently approved a proposal by the PCA to increase the fertilization budget to Php 2.5 billion in 2025. This significant step will ensure the successful implementation of the tree planting/replanting project towards the development of the coconut industry which opens diverse opportunities and benefits to the coconut farmers in the country.

Mandate
โIt is hereby directed to be the policy of the State to promote the rapid integrated development and growth of the coconut and other palm oil industry in all its aspects and to ensure that the coconut farmers become direct participants in, and beneficiaries of, such development and growth.โ
It establishes the legal basis for PCAโs sole stewardship and responsibility over the coconut and other palm oil industries for the benefit of the coconut and oil palm farmers.

A developed and globally competitive coconut and other palm oil industry that contributes to food security, improved income, and enhanced participation of all stakeholders by 2020.
Mission
The Philippine Coconut Authority shall ensure the development and implementation of high value programs for the coconut and other palm oil industry carried out in transparent, responsible, and accountable manner and with utmost degree of professionalism and effectiveness.

Functions
- Formulate and promote a strategic and comprehensive development program for the coconut and other palm oil industry in all its aspects;
- Implement and sustain a nationwide coconut planting and replanting, fertilization and rehabilitation, and other farm productivity programs;
- Conduct research and extension works on farm productivity and process development for product quality and diversification;
- Establish quality standards for coconut and palm products and by- products; and, develop and expand the domestic and foreign markets;
- Enhance the capacities and ensure the socio-economic welfare of coconut and palm farmers and farm workers.
