We are in need of a Process Engineer. Experience in performing detailed engineering calculations relative to process/ utilities / Offsite area including process control and equipment design. Basic detailed engineering skills shall include, but not be limited to, hydraulics, datasheet preparations, PSV sizing, and Flare sizing calculations. Able to perform design validations or verifications such that design intentions are met. Able to utilize commercially available design software such as HYSYS, PRO/II, Flare System Analyzer, HTRI, etc. Experience as PIC of various process design activities. Experience as checker/reviewer of process deliverables. 3-5 years of experience in process engineering design. The start date is Jan 2023 duration is 5 months.

Updating existing plant drawings to the latest as-built status. V***a Engineering Service will update existing plants drawings to reflect the actual situation and installation at the site on the drawings. As-built drawings are only as good as the information included in them. That being said, they should always be kept up to date. Each time a new task is completed, the owner should update them in detail. Otherwise, they will soon end up being useless or even a threat to the success of a new project.

Perform pipe stress analysis (calculations) and supporting. Enough flexibility must be provided in the line so that it will absorb its thermal expansion and not bring excessive stress on the pipe and excessive efforts on the nozzles of the connected equipment. The piping support engineer inputs the geometry of the line as well as the position and function of the support he proposes for this line in a finite element calculation software. The software calculates based on the line maximum operating temperature and pressure, the stress in the various parts of the line, and also at connections to equipment nozzles. The piping support engineer checks that the stress level on any part of the line is below the maximum stress level acceptable for the material of construction of this line and that the maximum efforts at the equipment nozzles are not exceeded which validates the routing and supporting of the line. The stress analysis also provides the load on the piping supports that shall be considered by civil in the design of the supporting steel structure.

2D and 3D plant layout and piping design. V***a Engineering Services intends to collaborate with the contractor’s piping design team to execute the project piping design to augment their current manpower and fast-track their schedule. Our piping designers are abreast with the design requirements such as separation distances, access requirements for operation and maintenance, line routing between equipment, space operator access to instruments and valves, allocation of space for all plant networks, and economic considerations. Likewise, our experienced piping designers can perform piping studies that consider fluid flow requirements, safety valve locations, piping flexibility, access for an operator for manifolds and instruments. We utilize licensed AutoCAD software in drafting all plans and drawings in accordance with Client drafting standards if required.

Basic and detailed engineering studies of various plant/ process modifications related to additional/ new equipment and piping. If your requirements involve solving present issues affecting the plant piping layout, hydraulics, new piping, or extending existing piping, installing new equipment (pressure vessels, tanks, filters, pumps, heat exchangers) to provide additional capacity or new process line, V***a Engineering Services provides the expertise needed. Our basic and detailed engineering studies would involve preparing common engineering deliverables such as but not limited to new P&ID and updating existing P&ID, hydraulic calculation, plot layout, piping plans, piping isometrics, equipment datasheet and specification, tie-in list/packages, utility consumption, project schedule, cost estimates, etc. The number of engineering deliverables will depend on the level of details the Client will require. A design safety review to identify possible hazards will be conducted upon request by the client.
