First Work (2021) vs. Latest Output ( WIP- 2024)

𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 -Knot ✨🌷

𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝟐 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐠𝐨 | Sleep-Knot came to Life!

It was on the verge of the New Normal, brought by the 2020 Pandemic, when I came to know the Art of Crocheting.

I just wanted a Froggy Bucket Hat back then.
As a DIY- Girly, I felt the need of creating one for myself.
It was my first Crochet output.
Before I realized, I already plummeted to this rabbit hole of hooks and loops.

𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟖 𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 |
For years, I suffered from Anxiety and Depression.
(Ika nga - "the jump from 2019 to present is so violent" ahaha.)

The greatest manifestation of my bad mental health was in my Sleeping Patterns.
HHAHAHAH daig ko pa naka good item.
I can never Sleep.

𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐲𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭 |
Instead of falling into the dark spiral or picking up a blade,
I picked a Crochet Hook.

Whenever I feel anxious, I pick my Crochet Hook and before I knew it, nakagawa na pala ako ng Crochet Flower.
Whenever I feel sad, I pick up my hook, and before I knew it,
may crochet keychain na 'ko.
Whenever I feel empty, I pick up my hook para atleast yung wallet ko nalang hindi, eme

Sa lungkot ko, di ko na mabilang ilan na nagawa ko. Char

I try to turn every Negative, Ugly thoughts and Empty feeling into something that's entirely opposite.

Anything that makes you feel something
(instead of just being numb)

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐲 𝐇𝐨𝐛𝐛𝐲 |
I hadn't realized, the hobby often coined as for "Grandmas"
would save me when life' s unbearable.

Kase during those times na isolated ka mula sa Mundo, and walang pwedeng masabihan, minsan yung bigat sa pakiramdam, overwhelming. Instead of spiralling, I pour my conscious being into this art.

May sense of fulfillment everytime I finish a project.
(Yes, celebrate small wins kase ito lng kaya , eme)

Yung Anxiety , parang Yarns pag nagkabuhol-buhol...
(if you're a Crocheter, you know this is a nightmare)
.. and at the end of finishing every project, para bang magic.
Figuratively, instead of mere tangled fibers, I now have these organized stitches with intricate patterns.

Na so-sort ko yung isip ko from the negative voices.
Napalitan ng "chain 54, 55, 56, 57, 58... Anong number na nga yun???" char

if you're wondering,
Why the name "Sleep-Knot"...
Yes po, opo. Kase di ako nakakatulog talaga. Hahahaha.
Thus, the Story. ⬆️
(Aside for Clout 💅 and Pun kase ka-name n'ya yung band)

But more to that, 𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰? |
Almost everything sa Crochet, nag simula muna sa isang...

"Slip-knot".

Di ka makaka proceed mag stitch kung di mo nagagawa ang knot na ito. It's the first Step to make a Crocheted piece.

And just like that, it seems to remind me everytime:

1.) Lahat ng Majestic na bagay, nag simula muna sa maliit

2.) Kahit ga'no ka overwhelming yung problema, depresyon, etc. Kaya pala. KAYA MO!

One knot at a time.
