A. GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
1. Applicant must be a Filipino citizen;
2. Applicant is a permanent resident of Cagayan de Oro City;
3. Applicant must be pursuing an undergraduate degree on a full-time basis;
4. Applicant must be a graduate of Senior High School;
5. Applicant must be incoming first year college student by start of SY 2022-2023;
6. Applicant must NOT have been enrolled in College;
7. Must not exceed gross total family income to 300,000 annually;
8. Applicant must not have a sibling or family member that is currently a city scholar.

B. BASIS OF SELECTION
Grades, Exam, Income, Leadership and Awards

C. SCHOLARSHIP TYPES
• Academic Scholarship Accepted applicant may choose any undergrate course except medical related courses
• Non-academic Scholarship Accepted applicant ay choose any non-board course in a school approved by the Scholarships Screening Committee

*Scholarship type will be based on the applicant's ranking as determined by the Scholarships Screening Committee

D. BENEFITS OF A CITY SCHOLAR
• Full tuition and matriculation and other fees
• Monthly stipend
• Holistic Formation

E. REQUIREMENTS
Enclosed in a clean long brown envelope, write applicant’s name, contact number and online application reference code legibly.
• Photocopy of grades (Grade 12 first semester)
• Photocopy of Birth Certificate
• Certificate of Residency of Applicant indicating specific address in Cagayan de Oro with length of residence
• Residence map with landmark of home address for validation purposes
• Printed photo of residence for validation purposes
• Parent’s Proof of Income (choose whichever is applicable):
If indigent parents,
- Barangay Certification indicating source of income of both parents and total family income
Or BIR Certificate of Tax Exemption for unemployed parents
If employed or self-employed parents,
- BIR Income Tax Certificate
If applicable/optional:
• Certificate of Awards and Leadership from the School Head
• Photocopy of PWD ID of the applicant
• Photocopy of 4Ps ID of parents
• Certification of Indigenous People Membership

- Deadline of online application is on March 11.

2. ATTEND ONLINE ASSEMBLY
Attend Online Application Assembly via CDO City Scholarships Office FB Page on March 19.

3. SUBMIT
- Submit photos of the requirements (see section E), starting March 21.
- Present original copies of documents upon submission (for reference)
- Enclosed complete requirements in a clean long brown envelope, indicate applicant’s name, contact number and online application reference code legibly
- Deadline of submission of requirements is APRIL 8, 2022

4. EXAM*
Apr 18-22 Qualifying Exam for District 1 applicants
Apr 25-29 Qualifying Exam for District 2 applicants
*exam is subject to the city's COVID alert level

5. ANNOUNCEMENT
REsults will be announced on May 30, via Facebook.

EveryJUAN behind Project JUAN Paglaum is grateful for the undying support and commitment of everyone, most especially to the dynamic community of barangay Bulua and SPES CDO, who participated in the recently concluded fourth webisode - I JUANt to understand: Understanding the psychosocial well-being of students in the new normal.

We are beyond grateful as well to kaJUANi Rio Rosal Baliling, RPm, CSWD Psychosocial Division's Attending Psychometrician, for sparing her time to our passionate Ma'am JUANas and Sir JUANs.

During the last webisode, si kaJUANi Rio shared some bits of advice on how our Ma'am JUANas and Sir JUANs can effectively guard their thoughts for a more peaceful mind and positively affect their mental and emotional states.

"Another way of guarding your thoughts is 'Do not be too hard on yourself.' You have to accept what you cannot change. Ayaw paghunahuna nga very incompetent ka compared sa imong workmates. Work on it the next time. Whatever kakulangon nimo adto nga time, forgive yourself, forgive others. Work on getting better. Ayaw lang gyud kaayo daugdauga imong kaugalingon. Daghan na kaayo tao ang andam modaugdaug sa imo. Ayaw na pag-apil. Be your own bestfriend. Ikaw gyud dapat ang pinakauna nga mosabot sa imong self. Practice mindfulness too," expressed and shared by kaJUANi Rio with so much compassion.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much, Ma'am JUANas and Sir JUANs, for participating sa atong last webisode enthusiastically! However, the journey does not end here. It is only the start of our road towards applying our learnings in our everyday experiences effectively. During the previous webisode, si kaJUANi Angel shared with us the whys and hows of championing mental and psychosocial wellness in our homes and the importance of effective two-way street communication.
