Urgent Call for Passage of SOGIE Equality Bills in the Philippines!📰🏳️‍🌈

Despite years of advocacy and growing social acceptance, the SOGIE Equality Bills in the Philippines face continued delays due to pushbacks from conservative and religious groups. These bills aim to prohibit discrimination based on Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression (SOGIE), but their passage remains uncertain.

Last April 25-26, 2024 Traveling Yogyakarta conducted SOGIE Summit at Ateneo De Davao University, Davao City.

The Event was attended by different deligates coming form different Provinces and Cities here in Mindanao.

Han Gonzalez & Kyochi Mabayo are our Representatives, together with other LGBT organizations in Northern Mindanao.

The said event was composed of many activities such as; HIV awareness, Group activity dialogue, SOGIE campaign, SOGIE Signature campaign inside Ateneo De Davao, Diversity Night and many more.

OPLC is under the Northern Mindanao group which they bring home the Rainbow Award for having the highest rate in SOGIE signature campaign.

In our hectic schedules, we sometimes don't give a second thought to animals like cats and dogs wandering around our neighbourhood, and we generally ignore them. Sometimes it's a dog's bark or a cat's chilling howl that catches our attention for a moment and then we forget, but we don't realise that what we forget as humans is that we have a responsibility to help, care for, and look after the needy and helpless creatures who rely on us.

We at OPLC are very humbled to be of service.
We are forever grateful for the unending support of CDO Animal Welfare Society Inc Pilmico Feeds Iligan Stray Feeders Maxime, sir Leo and to all volunteers who made an extra effort to make this possible.
