Our attorney is grateful to the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos-Region 10, especially to Dir. Abdul Nasser P. Masorong and Atty. Shaymah Balt Abdullah for the opportunity to participate in a productive roundtable discussion with focal persons from vital agencies, including the Philippine Statistics Office, the Local Civil Registrar, and the Shariah Circuit Courts. The discussion focused on issues surrounding conversion to Islam, specifically concerning the registrations and regulations of conversion, divorce, subsequent remarriage, and the consequential criminal liability for bigamy.
Our Attorney is grateful for the opportunity to have joined the Regional Consultation on Proposed Amendments to the Rules of Civil Procedure along with the esteemed members of the Judiciary, Legal Practitioners, and members of the Academe, spearheaded by Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo.
Apart from the enlightening information, our Attorney is glad to have met her former Law Professors turned friends and colleagues in the legal profession.
It is not how far you have reached; it is how many lives you have touched.
Kudos to our Attorney and all the individuals behind the success of this cause. Our Attorney would like to express her gratitude to everyone.

I was overwhelmed by the attention a simple post of gratitude has reached. Goosebumps were real, especially when I watched the video of nursing students' orientation showcasing samples of Muslim hijabi uniforms.
It was just once a dream, and now, it's a sweet reality. Maa shaa Allah! TabarakAllah!
We seek the rewards only from Allah!
Winning this battle would not be possible without the active involvement of the universityâs brave students and student leaders of various student government bodies SIRAJ MRO - Xavier University Xavier University - Central Student Government, Muslims and non-Muslims alike, who fought for the rights of our Muslim Hijabis. I salute them for their bravery and compassion.
The support and assistance of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos-Region 10 throughout this process is indispensable.
I also always commend the prompt action of the
Commission on Higher Education - Regional Office 10 and the Department of Health Regional Office 10 for giving formal directives to the university and the affiliate medical institutions/facilities to allow the students to wear hijab. That truly opened the door for the complaint to be acted upon immediately.
It is as if Allah SWT has brought us all together to end this long, recurring issue. Alhamdulillah! Allah SWT, indeed, is the best planner.
Likewise, we thank the City Council of Cagayan de Oro City Girlie Balaba - GB for overseeing the issue. However, we are hopeful that this fight does not stop here. We are also praying for an ordinance directly banning the prohibition of wearing hijab. It would be a good precedent so the same issue would not reprise in any part of the country.
Once again, as this is a collective effort, we are endlessly grateful to all who have stood with us in this fight. JazakAllahu Khairan!
Congratulations to all the Muslim hijabis; this is for you! Allahu Akbar!

Our Attorney is glad to have attended the information dissemination on the EOPT Act conducted by the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Revenue Region No. 16.
More than being informed, she is happier to have had a quick catch-up with former BIR colleagues and friends, who are now the sitting bosses of the region.
EOPT Update Part 2: Invoicing Requirementsâźď¸

âAnother Year Of Gratitudeâ
Who wouldâve thought that we would come this far? Yes, we are now in our third year! And it just feels like yesterday. Maa shaa Allah! Alhamdulillah!
Coming from government service, opening a legal and tax consultancy office during the height of the pandemic was a tough decision to make. Not to mention that I also enrolled in Master of Laws and teach in the College of Law, all at the same time. I was overwhelmed playing different roles, balancing life with that of a wife and a mother.
Thereâs no shortcut to success. A real success does not come over time. Hard work, perseverance, and dedication are essential factors, and of course, above all, prayers.
Others asked if I didnât feel burned out. But honestly, I never get tired because, despite the various tasks, I enjoy them. My great obsessions are service, seeking knowledge, and imparting it in any way I can. Thus, the birth of the segment âAsk Atty. D! Your Tax Buddy!â is something that I am hopeful that you will support as well.
Indeed, even if you are to do multiple things you love, youâll never feel like youâre working at all. It is called - passion!
To the young generation, remember to do what you love and do it well. That is success in itself!
Once again, our endless gratitude to everyone for your unwavering support and confidence in D' Firm Diangca Law and Tax Consultancy. May you still be with us in our efforts to continuously provide the excellent services possible to our valued clientele, in shaa Allah!
â Atty. Saniarah Usman- Diangca, CPA, CGM, MBA
Our Attorney was invited as one of the focal persons on the Focus Group Discussion on BTA Bill No. 285 or the Proposed âBangsamoro Revenue Codeâ attended by distinguished representatives of various key agencies, the BTA Committee, and Members of the Parliament (MPs), headed by Committee on Ways and Means Chairperson, Atty. Paisalin P. Tago, MP.
Our gratitude for trusting that our Attorney would be able to give valuable insights and contributions to a fruitful discussion on this vital proposed Revenue Code of the Bangsamoro Region.

*Disclaimer: Our Attorney does not claim expertise on any subject matter. This is for general and educational purposes only.
Our Attorney attended a meeting called by the City Council of Cagayan de Oro to hear and discuss the updates on the inquiry conducted last February 2024 to address the concerns of Muslim Nursing Students prohibited from wearing hijabs in the classroom (RLE) and during their clinical duties at medical institutions.
Our Attorney is grateful to the City Council, especially Chairperson Honorable Councilor Girlie Balaba - GB, Councilor Suzette Magtajas-Daba, and Councilor Kenneth John Sacala, for their urgent action to address the matter. We look forward to another conference to finally resolve the issue with the concerned University and affiliate hospitalsâ representatives, fulfilling their promise of formulating a new integrated nursing uniform policy.
Our Attorney, once again, would also like to express her gratitude to those who assisted them in this battle, the NCMF Region 10 and the University Student Government Bodies for their active involvement. Our Attorney would like to commend as well the CHED and the DOH Region 10 officials for their prompt action, which triggered and opened the doors for this issue to be heard and acted upon immediately. If not for that, this fight would not be this feasible.
With Allahâs help and guidance, our Attorney committed that she will see this through until its final resolution, as the fight is not only for Muslim hijabi nursing students of this esteemed University but for all the Muslim hijabis across the country, in shaa Allah!
Indeed, being a lawyer is not a privilege but a public duty. Borrowing the words of Justice Dimaampao, âThere can be no equal justice unless there is an equal access to justice.â

NEW YEARâs TAX UPDATEâźď¸
Payment of the Annual Registration Fee (ARF) is no longer required!
Effective January 22, 2024, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) will cease collecting the Annual Registration Fee (ARF) from business taxpayers.
As a result, business taxpayers are exempt from filing BIR Form No. 0605 and paying the Five Hundred Pesos (PHP 500.00) ARF on or before January 31 every year.
This is in compliance with Republic Act No. 11976, the "Ease of Paying Taxes Act."

Indeed, a lawyerâs primary ethical duty is public service.
Hearing their plight is truly disheartening.
May the PDLs receive the justice they deserve.
Our Attorney is grateful to IBP MIsOr for this opportunity. Kudos, IBP Misamis Oriental Chapter!
Our CPA-Lawyer would like to thank the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Revenue Region No. 16, for another one-of-a-kind experience. She was overjoyed to have had the opportunity to be part of the Panel of Tax Experts for the first-ever search for the Philippinesâ Brightest Buwis Masters. She truly treasures the precious time spent reconnecting with friends and former coworkers, and meeting new endearing faces in the Bureau.
Congratulations to all the winners and, of course, to the Committee behind this very successful event. Salute!
