This is just a friendly reminder that you are not responsible for making this a perfect Christmas for everyone. Your actual Christmas will probably look nothing like your adorable family photo on the Christmas cards you sent (or didn’t send this year because it just felt like too much 🙋🏻‍♀️).
And that’s totally okay! That’s real life. We are inconsistent, messy, beautiful people who are capable of pity-parties one moment and incredible acts of generosity the next.
I’m sure Jesus was well aware of our messiness when He chose to be born in a stable. It’s like he intentionally acknowledged our humble nature and willfully met us there. He is under no illusion that we have it all together and yet his spirit stays faithfully with us through it all.
May we remember that this Christmas; through the picturesque moments and the meltdowns, God is with us. Emmanuel. Praise be to God!

What is cold process soap?

Cold process soap making is the original, traditional method of making soap by combining fat or oil (animal or plant based) with sodium hydroxide lye then blending in addition of essential oils and colorants as required. This treatment causes a chemical reaction called saponification which takes up to 48 hours. Then after an additional slow curing process of about 4-6 weeks, leaves us with the product that we recognise as soap.

Cold process soap making is time consuming and involves the handling of a fairly toxic ingredient (lye) but this slow and traditional method is really very satisfying and does produce a superior project in the end. The lack of heat will ensure that essential oils are not ruined but instead remain intact and release their therapeutic properties through the lovely lathery soap that you make.

Last July 16, 2023, our KAMAKA (Katilingban sa Mauswagong Kababaihan) had their learning session on Women's Economic Empowerment. The activity aims to provide our community partners with valuable insights about how businesses operate on the ground, including the challenges they face and how they can overcome them. The session serves as an avenue for knowledge exchange and reflective learning—equipping our KAMAKA women as they establish their own business.

KAMAKA is a project for the housewives of trisikad drivers which the project aims to raise awareness and impart knowledge on matters discussing women empowerment, economic empowerment and enterprise ideation.
