For over 50 years, Pancit Mabuhay of Calapan has been delighting locals with their authentic Chinese cuisine. Long-time visitors might remember when the eatery first opened in 1969 and moved to two different locations before finally settling into its current spot owned by the operations manager who proudly declared: "This is now ours." All agree that if one hasn't savored a meal from this revered establishment they have never truly experienced this vibrant city.
For generations, the Dela Cruz family has been bringing delicious vibrant flavors to the people of Calapan and its surrounding communities. Known for their secret recipes that keep customers coming back time and again, this once-small shop in J.P Rizal Street first opened its doors in the late 1960s where it served palay farmers from Baco, San Teodoro Naujan and Victoria as well as movie theater goers across the street β all with tantalizing dishes made especially for each customer's taste buds! Adopting a Filipino surname after being told by local authorities during their infancy years only adds more character to an already deeply rooted history bound together through food and tradition.
Hasmin proudly shared the secret behind their delicious noodles β a recipe that's been passed down in her family for generations! Every morning, they make fresh batches of miki guisado to ensure each customer gets only the best. Fresh noodles daily. If demand is high enough, her brother even lends an extra hand during busy days!
She and her sister have crafted a unique soy sauce that has been carefully guarded over the years. This special blend is used in all of their dishes, even as a dip for customers to enjoy.
