One of the most memorable classes I attended back at the university was when our professor asked us to think of as many target goals as we can given one toy. Of course, as students, we plainly stated the obvious goals and marvelled as she named countless more. I vividly remember her saying, "you can do so much with just a paper and pen." 📒🖊️

So when we say you can target a LOT of goals with our busy book, we mean to say you can target a LOT.

If you look inside our busy book, there are many pictures like these which you can use to:
🌱 ask your child to describe what is happening - this allows your child to form sentences and make inferences. You may even expand it by asking questions related to the pictures, such as how the characters are feeling, what could have happened before / what might happen after, and why they are doing the actions depicted.
🌱 ask reflective questions - as you discuss the pictures, ask questions such as, "what do you think about (this action)?" "what would (this action) make others feel?" You may also turn their attention to themselves by asking, "have you done something like this before?" or "remember when you...? What do you think about that now?" These questions develop higher level thinking and (in my opinion) one's ability to meditate on the word of God later on.
🌱 re-enact the scenes together - this would be a fun, bonding activity with your child. Allow them to choose which character they'd like to play and let the imagination run wild in setting the scene, making up the dialogue, and coming up with a resolution.

WORDABILITIES congratulates Peggy Geiser for being the sole recipient of the ASP Autism Angel Achievement Award Laureate for the Performing Arts, which was awarded and received during the Angels Walk for Autism by the Autism Society of the Philippines last April 21, 2024.

Peggy Geiser also initially placed silver in the 2023 Asia Pacific Youth Performing Arts Championship in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where she is the only person in the spectrum in the competition.
