San Sebastian College-Recoletos de Cavite ROTC Unit is a Reserve Officers' Training Corps unit under the 402nd (Cavite) Community Defense Center, 4th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army, activated on 31 January 1973.

The Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) is one of the three components of the National Service Training Program (NSTP), which aims to prepare students to become members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines reserve force.

It is OPEN FOR ALL COURSES and gives the students the opportunity to explore various career paths for the future, whether as line officers or as technical service officers in the regular force.

✅Basic and advanced leadership training oriented towards civil auxiliary service, military familiarization, and disaster response

CALLING ALL INCOMING SEBASTINIAN FRESHMEN!

Did you know that the ROTC is one of the three components of the NATIONAL SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAM (NSTP)?

According to Republic Act 9163, college students shall be ALLOWED to choose their preferred NSTP program from any of the following components:

- Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS)
- Literacy Training Service (LTS)
- Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC)

At present, both CWTS and ROTC are being offered at San Sebastian College - Recoletos de Cavite.

Join the ROTC program, and you will get a chance to enjoy various benefits, such as relevant leadership training, enormous career opportunities, and financial grants and subsidies!

120700 June 2024 - San Sebastian College - Recoletos de Cavite ROTC Unit under the supervision of MAJ ARTEMIO J ALOSADA (MI) PA, Director of the 402nd (Cavite) Community Defense Center, and 2LT JONALD JUSTINE U ITUGOT PA (RES), Assistant Commandant, participated in the Independence Day parade hosted by the Local Government Unit of Cavite City and led by HON. DENVER CHUA, City Mayor.

The parade started at Escobar Street and concluded at Samonte Park, Cavite City. A total of four (4) graduate military assistants, 18 advanced cadet officers, and 34 basic cadets participated in the activity, particularly as color bearers and marching elements along with the other members of the school's delegation.

010800 June 2024 - San Sebastian College - Recoletos de Cavite ROTC Unit under the supervision of MAJ ARTEMIO J ALOSADA (MI) PA, Director of the 402nd (Cavite) Community Defense Center, and 2LT JONALD JUSTINE U ITUGOT PA (RES), Assistant Commandant, held a Thanksgiving Mass presided by REV. FR. JOHN ZACHARY A. HAGUISAN, OAR, Director of the Office for Student Affairs and Services, at the SSC-R de Cavite Main Campus Chapel, in celebration of the closing ceremony of the NSTP-ROTC Program for School Year 2023-2024.

During the same activity, the graduates of the Cadet Officers Qualification Course Class 03-2024 donated 17 sets of toiletries for the Recoletos Community Outreach Program Office.

011000 June 2024 - San Sebastian College-Recoletos de Cavite ROTC Unit under the supervision of MAJ ARTEMIO J ALOSADA (MI) PA, Director of the 402nd (Cavite) Community Defense Center, and 2LT JONALD JUSTINE U ITUGOT PA (RES), Assistant Commandant, conducted the Joint Closing Ceremony of Military Science Courses and Cadet Officers Qualification Course (COQC) Class 03-2024 with COL LEO C BALANLAY CHS (GSC), Command Chaplain of the General Headquarters and Headquarters Service Command, Armed Forces of the Philippines, as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. A total of 70 cadets from the Basic ROTC Program and 17 cadets from the COQC program have participated in the graduation ceremony, and in the same event, C/Col Lovely Ann S Caldejon 1CL relinquished her post as Corps Commander, and turned over the Command Saber to C/Maj Carmela G Demafiles 1CL, the incoming Corps Commander. The activity was also witnessed by Ms. Ana D. Manzano, NSTP Coordinator.

SSCR de Cavite ROTC Unit will be holding the Joint Closing Ceremony of Military Science Courses (1-2, 31-32 & 41-42) and the Cadet Officers' Qualification Course Class 03-2024 on 01 June 2024 at the San Sebastian College - Recoletos de Cavite Main Campus.

During the same event, the leadership of the Corps of Cadets will also be turned over to the next Corps Commander, who will lead the Corps in the next school year.

The Guest of Honor and Speaker for this event will be COL LEO C BALANLAY CHS (GSC), Command Chaplain of the General Headquarters & Headquarters Service Command, Armed Forces of the Philippines. 🇵🇭

Meet the people behind SSC-R de Cavite's ROTC Unit who are tasked with ensuring the proper conduct of training activities and delivering a holistic leadership development program for all cadets.

Today, we're featuring Pvt Jerry Q Vale Cruz PA (Res), one of the tactical non-commissioned officers (NCO) of the unit.

Private Vale Cruz is a graduate of a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, and he is currently employed as the Regional Manager for Southeast Asia of Federal Express (FedEx), focusing on health, safety, environmental, and dangerous goods.

During weekends, he serves the country as an enlisted reservist of the Philippine Army, particularly as a member of the SSC-R de Cavite's training staff and the 402nd Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion. Moreover, he is also affiliated as an officer in the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Through his example, we can prove that the ROTC program is not limited to those who have chosen a career path in the law enforcement and military professions but is open to everyone who wishes to develop their practical and leadership skills, which can be applied in various settings.

Today, we're featuring 2LT JOHN MICHAEL E TAMIO PA (RES), a tactical officer of the unit.

Lieutenant Tamio is an entrepreneur who graduated with a degree in business administration and specializing in management accounting. He currently serves in various management roles in the fuel, real estate, and hardware industries.

During weekends, he serves the country as a commissioned officer of the Philippine Army's reserve force, particularly as a platoon leader at the Charlie Company of the 402nd Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion and as a member of the SSC-R de Cavite's training directorate.

Through his example, we can prove that the ROTC program is not limited to those who have chosen a career path in the law enforcement and military professions but is open to everyone who wishes to develop their practical and leadership skills, which can be applied in various settings.

Lieutenant Itugot is an educator and an entrepreneur by profession who currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Cerebro, an educational technology company.

During weekends, he serves the country as a commissioned officer of the Philippine Army's reserve force, particularly as a member of the SSC-R de Cavite's training directorate and as the Executive Officer of the Alpha Company of the 402nd Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion.

SSCR de Cavite ROTC Unit will conduct the formal opening ceremony of the Cadet Officers' Qualification Course (COQC) Class 03-2024 on Sunday, 21 January 2023 at the Cañacao Campus Grounds.

The event will be graced by 2LT MC DONNELL E LIWAG PA (RES), Platoon Leader of the Alpha Company, 402nd Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion, as the guest of honor and speaker.

30 December 2023 - Cadet officers undergoing the Advanced ROTC Program within the Province of Cavite, including two (2) from the SSCR de Cavite ROTC Unit, received their subsistence allowance distributed by the 402nd (Cavite) Community Defense Center based in Camp Riego de Dios, Tanza, Cavite.

The subsistence allowance is a form of financial support given by the Philippine Army to cadets taking advanced courses in recognition of their active participation in the ROTC program.

13 December 2013 - Cadet officers from SSCR de Cavite ROTC Unit who have completed their ROTC Summer Camp Training (RSCT) and Advanced ROTC Academic Phase Training (ARAPT) 31-32 this year received their issued Philippine Army Pattern (Philarpat) battle dress uniforms from the 402nd Cavite Community Defense Center under the leadership of its director, MAJ ARTEMIO J ALOSADA (MI) PA.

The said cadet officers are graduates of the ROTC program, and are automatically enlisted in the Armed Forces of the Philippines reserve force with corresponding ranks and military serial numbers.
