Congratulations to the newly appointed National Treasurer, Ms. Sharon P. Almanza!

She took her oath of office on March 12, 2024, administered by Secretary Ralph G. Recto of the Department of Finance.

Finance Secretary Ralph G. Recto administered the oath of office of Ms. Sharon P. Almanza as the newly appointed National Treasurer of the Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) on March 12, 2024.

Treasurer Almanza previously served as Deputy Treasurer of the BTr and was seconded to the World Bank Group from 2021 to 2023 as the Alternate Executive Director and Senior Advisor for the Constituency of Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama, Philippines, Suriname, and Trinidad & Tobago.

She also held various positions at the DOF as the IFG’s Division Chief for Debt and Risk Management and Multilateral Assistance.

She finished her degree in Economics at the University of the Philippines Diliman and earned masteral units in Business Management from the same university. She obtained her master’s degree in Asian Public Policy at the Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo, Japan.
