You're probably wondering, when will the pandemic just end-emic already? Well, we can draw some lessons from the "great influenza" of 1918.

The truth is, increased levels of population immunity is how we'll get there, and everyone has a role to play: get vaccinated and boosted if you can, and call for the equitable distribution of vaccines.

Omicron is like a super typhoon. It is going to hit everyone. The more preparation you have, the more likely you will survive.

Unvaccinated and unmasked people are like storm victims caught out in the open at the height of the deluge. They have no protection and are the most likely to die. Like sturdy shelters and higher ground, our vaccines, masks, shields and public health measures will enable the most prepared to survive.

Omicron is here. If you are vaxxed and you keep your mask on, you will likely be ok. Let's help our healthcare workers keep the hospitals open for those who are at highest risk. If you aren't vaccinated, please get vaccinated as soon as possible. For now, shelter in place. Stay safe.

At a glance: baby's p**p color guide ๐Ÿ’ฉ

โ€œIs the color of my babyโ€™s p**p normal?โ€

More often than not, parents worry about their little oneโ€™s stool output. Here is a quick glance on the expected colors of your babyโ€™s p**p.

[ACCEPTABLE COLORS]

> Greenish Black โ€“ Also known as โ€œmeconium.โ€ This is the color of the first stool after birth, and is perfectly normal in the first few days of life.

> Mustard Yellow โ€“ Once the meconium passes, a newbornโ€™s stool becomes a mustard-yellow color and is seen as seedy in texture. This is the gold standard for babies and is mostly seen in breastfed babies.

> Bright Yellow โ€“ Normal for breastfed babies. However, if it is overly runny, this could be a sign of diarrhea.

> Tan โ€“ Normally seen in formula-fed babies

> Greenish-Tan โ€“ Normally seen once solid food is started

> Orange โ€“ Normal in both breastfed and formula-fed babies. In breastfed babies, this could be a result of orange-colored food eaten by the breastfeeding mom. For babies on solid food, may also be due to orange-colored solids.

> Bright Green โ€“ If babyโ€™s stool is frothy and bright green, it could mean that the baby is getting too much foremilk (sweeter and thinner) and not enough fatty hindmilk (richer and fatter). A quick solution is to try not to switch your baby to your other breast until youโ€™ve finished nursing at least 20 minutes per side.

> Dark Green โ€“ May be seen in babies taking iron supplements or who are fed with iron-fortified milk formulas. For babies on solid food, this may be due to green-colored solids (ex. spinach or other leafy vegetables, green jell-o).

[COLORS OF CONCERN]

> Red โ€“ May be seen in babies eating red-colored solids (ex. Red jell-o, beets, cranberries, tomato juice). In tiny amounts, may be due to blood that baby swallowed from cracks in your ni**le. For constipated babies, red streaks or flecks may be seen from small tears in the a**s due to straining. If bloody or bright red, this may be an indication of infection, allergy, gastrointestinal injury or other medical concerns. Further assessment is warranted.

> Black โ€“ May be seen in babies taking iron supplements. If not on iron, it could be a sign of gastrointestinal bleeding.

> Chalky-White or Gray โ€“ Could be a sign of a lack of bile, indicating a problem with the liver.

Consult your doctor if your child has any of the colors of concern.

Many women do not breastfeed for as long as they would like.

This is how we can ALL support mothers anytime, everywhere.

Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease is very contagious. This is common in infants and children younger than 5 years old. Most children have mild symptoms for 7 - 10 days.

You can help prevent catching or spreading hand, foot and mouth disease by following simple steps:
๐Ÿ‘ Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
๐Ÿ“Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
๐Ÿ“Avoid close contact with sick people such as hugging or kissing

When to see a Doctor or your Pediatrician?
๐Ÿ“Your child is not drinking enough to stay hydrated
๐Ÿ“ Your child's fever lasts longer than 3 days
๐Ÿ“ Your child has a weakened immune system ( body's ability to fight germs and sickness)
๐Ÿ“ Symptoms are severe
๐Ÿ“ Symptoms do not improve after 10 days
๐Ÿ“Your child is very young, especially younger than 6 moths
