Why do we need to “PRUNE” our cacao trees?

The objective of pruning is to give the cacao tree a structure that will help to maximise its production capacity.

👉🏻 improves vegetation growth and production in tree crops as it optimizes the balance of vegetative and reproductive growth and increases the efficacy of fertilization and pest control. It is done at least twice in a year.

Types of Cacao Pruning:
- phytosanitary pruning for disease control,
- scion removal, and.
- annual/maintenance pruning for crown formation.
