The PMHA Cebu Chapter conducted Community Mental Health Clinics with partner LGUs in Cebu and Ubay, Bohol, with the support of the Mental Health Consultants. This initiative provided essential Mental Health consultations to numerous individuals residing in these communities.
Remember, its okay to talk about su***de. Research indicates that discussing su***de does not increase the risk, but rather can reduce suicidal ideation by encouraging help-seeking behavior and creating a supportive environment. โ
Let us foster open conversations about su***de to break the stigma and provide support. We all can make a difference and be a light of hope for someone going through dark times. August 16, 2024 - The PMHA Cebu Chapter held a orientation of their Programs and Services and an enlightening "Caring for Your Mental Health" talk. This was participated by the committed Barangay Health Workers, Nurses and Staff of the Sibonga Municipal Health Office who will be assisting in the implementation of the mental health program in LGU Sibonga.
The Municipality of Sibonga is all set for their first Mental Health Clinic this 2024.

August 13, 2024 - the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangay Guadalupe, City of Cebu, invited the the PMHA Cebu Chapter to conduct a free "Caring for Your Mental Health" Talk in celebration of their Linggo ng Kabataan 2024. Conducted by PMHA Cebu Chapterโs Program Officer, Ms. Erica Mae Angel Reyes, the event garnered active participation from both the proactive SK โ Barangay Guadalupe Council and the youth of Guadalupe Cebu City, led by the dynamic Hon. Matt Estenzo, SK Chairperson of Brgy. Guadalupe and Hon. Ashia Canaya, SK Councilor.
This initiative serves as a significant step in strengthening the PMHA Cebu Chapter's advocacy for mental health. By reaching out to the youth, it aims to cultivate interest in mental health advocacy and raise awareness among future advocates.
Building on the success of this collaboration, the PMHA Cebu Chapter will offer free Caring for your Mental Health Talk to the barangays of Cebu City and Lapu-Lapu City in the formal launch of the Mental Health Sa Barangay Caravan.
In unity, the advocacy for mental health aims to empower the Filipino people to achieve the highest level of mental health. Through the Education and Information Services provided by the PMHA Cebu Chapter, the journey towards mental health awareness and support continues.
