Assalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu.

We stand with the Bangsamoro people in mourning the loss of the Province of Sulu from the purview of the Bangsamoro Government—a province that has been instrumental to the foundation and integrity of the Bangsamoro identity.

From the days of the armed struggle to the peace negotiations, the historic BOL plebiscite, and today's BARMM governance, the people of Sulu—alongside UBJP leaders—have played key roles as advocates, protectors, and architects to ensure that Sulu gains the peace and development dividends it deserves.

Yet, as a political party grounded in the principle of justice, we uphold the rule of law. We acknowledge the decision of the Supreme Court, even if it brings deep regret.

The ruling, however, means that the people of Sulu will no longer benefit directly from the programs and reforms the Bangsamoro Government, through UBJP, has delivered and will continue to implement to improve their lives. Sulu's children will be disconnected from the improved educational systems within BARMM, including the strengthening of Madaris education. Sulu will now be governed by leaders less restrained by the BARMM’s anti-political dynasty policies, which have been crucial in our fight for good governance.

In this time of grief, we urge the Bangsamoro people not to lose hope. The essence of the Bangsamoro identity transcends administrative boundaries. The unity, courage, and resilience that have defined our shared journey will not be diminished.

As long as UBJP remains the Government of the Day in BARMM, we will continue to fight for the rights and aspirations of every Bangsamoro. We will ensure that Sulu remains connected with the region in spirit and in progress, despite now being outside its formal borders.

The Bangsamoro Government retains a broad range of powers at its disposal, including the Inter-Governmental Relations Bodies (IGRBs), inter-LGU cooperation, and its coordinative role over Bangsamoro communities outside BARMM (BCOBAR), to ensure that our collective future as a People continues to be realized within the legal framework of the Philippines.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT VEHEMENTLY REPUDIATE THE HOSTILE AND EVIL-INTENTIONED INFORMATION AGAINST UBJP

In a press conference held on July 10, 2024, UBJP Information Officer and Spokesperson Engr. Mohajirin Ali provided significant updates on the party's recent and upcoming activities. He outlined a comprehensive schedule of events and key milestones aimed at strengthening the party's mission and engagement with various sectors as the 2025 elections are fast approaching.

Engr. Ali proudly shared with the press the successful submission of petitions to Commission on Elections by around 2,000 sectoral organizations, including women, youth, settlers, non-Moro IPs, ulama, and traditional leaders, to participate in the 2025 sectoral elections.

He also outlined a series of key events and initiatives that are set to happen in the month of July, including the Special Assembly for LDS Coastal Municipalities, sponsored by BTA Speaker Balindong, which is scheduled for July 18, 2024, in Malabang Municipality; the Sulu Assembly will be held also this July, although the exact date is yet to be confirmed; and the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding of the UBJP with the PFP later this month.

He also announced that the UBJP has begun accepting letters of intent from party leaders and members aspiring to run for positions ranging from district MPs to city or municipal councilors. These submissions can be made directly to the regional headquarters or through executive officers and vice presidents.

Furthermore, a nomination committee under the office of the president will be established to deliberate on the respective candidates for the upcoming elections, followed by a party convention in August.

He also shared that discussions are ongoing regarding candidates for MDS and LDS, with a firm commitment from the party to participate. In Basilan and Tawi-Tawi, the UBJP will collaborate with Governor Yshmael “Mang” Sali and Governor Jim Hataman, with local candidates to be announced soon. For Sulu, the party is in talks with potential candidates and has confirmed its intention to field candidates.

The United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) strongly condemns the senseless and tragic murder of our party volunteer, 𝐌𝐫𝐬. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐀𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐚 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫, which occurred at around 𝟗:𝟎𝟎 𝐀𝐌, 𝟎𝟏 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒/𝟐𝟓 𝐃𝐡𝐮’𝐥-𝐇𝐢𝐣𝐣𝐚𝐡 𝟏𝟒𝟒𝟓 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐫𝐠𝐲. 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐇𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐕𝐈𝐈𝐈, 𝐂𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲. This despicable act of violence is an attack on our democratic values and the fundamental right of citizens to participate in the political process without fear of harm.

Mrs. Villar was a dedicated and passionate advocate for the UBJP’s principles and policies. Her life was viciously taken while she was in the act of distributing UBJP membership forms in the area as part of engaging with the community, mobilizing supporters, and amplifying the message of the UBJP.

Only through collective resilience and a shared dedication to the principles of justice and equality can we overcome this tragedy and emerge stronger as a community.

The UBJP extends our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Mrs. Villar. We call on all party members to extend the necessary legal ,financial, material and moral support to the bereaved family as UBJP commits to honor the memory of Mrs. Maria Alona Villar by redoubling our efforts to create a more just, inclusive, and peaceful society for all.

Sa panayam kay United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) Spokesperson, Mohajirin Ali, sinabi nitong walang katotohanan ang akusasyon ni Kapatagan, Lanao del Sur Mayor Raida Maglangit sa umanoy may banta na mahaharap sa imbestigasyon ng Commission on Audit (COA) ang mga lokal na bayan at mga lider na hindi susuporta sa UBJP.
Kaugnay ito sa ipinatawag na pagpupulong ng BARMM Mayors kamakailan ng MILG-BARMM kasama ang Pangulo sa Maynila.
Ani pa ni Ali, tila nasanay na umano sila sa mga estilo at banat ni Mayor Maglangit tulad na akusasyon din umano nito na bentahan ng teacher’s item sa Ministry of Basic Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) pero nang ipatawag na para ibigay ang detalyadong impormasyon sa ikinasang imbestigasyon sa isyu ay hindi naman daw ito nakipag-cooperate at binigyang linaw ang isyu.
Hindi na umano bago sa UBJP ang batikos ni Mayor Maglangit tulad sa panibagong banat nito ngayon sa kanyang talumpati sa BGC provincial party launch sa Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.
Sa pagkakaalam umano ni Ali, iba ang tema ng usapin sa ipinatawag na pagpupulong ng mga alkalde ng BARMM sa Maynila kasama ang Pangulo, kasama ang Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PDF).
Ito ay ang Idaos na mapayapa at makatotohanan ang halalan sa BARMM sa May 2025 —— na walang bahid ng karahasahan at makakaboto ng maayos ang mga tao.
Hindi rin umano patas na akusahan si PDF Party president South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo Tamayo Jr., sa nasabing banta ng COA investigation sa mga hindi sasanib sa UBJP.
