ORATIO IMPERATA ALANG SA ULAN
[UPDATED] English and Cebuano Version of the “Oratio Imperata Ad Petendam Pluviam" or the Obligatory Prayer to Request for Rain
Amen.
Birhen sa Guadalupe, i-ampo mo kami.

LET US PRAY | ORATIO IMPERATA for Rain
God our loving Father, Creator of our earth and of the universe, and all the wondrous elements of nature that sustain your living creatures, we humbly ask you to send us the rain that our country needs so badly at this time, to irrigate our fields, to stave off a power shortage, to provide water for our bodily health, and to refresh our parched lands. At your command the wind and the seas obey, raise your hand Almighty God to commence the normal rainy season that has now been long delayed so that crisis may be averted.
Merciful and generous God, instill in us a deep love for this earth and all that is in and around it. And at this time of crisis, dear Lord, move us to share more, to serve more and to love more.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us.

I-ampo mo kami!
You won't hear this from Ogie Diaz.
but some relationships really do stand the test of time!
You've probably seen it with your own eyes, maybe in your family or among your friends.
While celebrity breakups spread louder, faster and wider, there are plenty of couples quietly going strong.
So, don't lose hope in marriage. Give it a chance.
Here's what I've observed from those lasting marriages:
It’s never been easy
but the Lord Jesus is always the One holding them together. Colossians 1:17
A GENTLE REMINDER
To all receiving the Eucharist with their hands:
We firmly believe that it is Jesus himself we receive in the Eucharist. He who says “This is my body… and this is my blood.” To believe otherwise is a heresy.
Nonetheless, just as the consecrated host is JESUS, so is the smallest particle is JESUS.
Please be careful in receiving the Eucharist.
We condemn any act of sacrilege and desecration against the real presence of Our Lord and we strive to avoid any irreverences due to our negligence and ignorance.
What to do:
✅ When possible, receive by tongue and in kneeling position (as this is the most reverent way of receiving Our Lord)
✅ If standing, you may genuflect before receiving communion.
✅ If by hand, please take note once again that every particle is still Jesus. Please consume all particles of the host left on your hands.
What not to do:
❌ Do not shake off your hands after communion (to avoid possible scattering of particles)
❌ Do not just spray alcohol immediately. The particles are not germs or bacteria. Again make sure that there are no particles left on your hands.
Let us once again revive a deeper faith and reverence to the REAL PRESENCE of JESUS in the EUCHARIST!

Solemnity of All Saints
The Church's experience shows that every form of holiness, even if it follows different paths, always passes through the Way of the Cross, the way of self-denial. The Saints' biographies describe men and women who, docile to the divine plan, sometimes faced unspeakable trials and suffering, persecution and martyrdom. They persevered in their commitment: "they... have come out of the great tribulation", one reads in Revelation, "they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb" (Rv 7: 14). Their names are written in the book of life (cf. Rv 20: 12) and Heaven is their eternal dwelling-place.
The example of the Saints encourages us to follow in their same footsteps and to experience the joy of those who trust in God, for the one true cause of sorrow and unhappiness for men and women is to live far from him.
Holiness demands a constant effort, but it is possible for everyone because, rather than a human effort, it is first and foremost a gift of God, thrice Holy (cf. Is 6: 3). In the second reading, the Apostle John remarks: "See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are" (I Jn 3: 1).
It is God, therefore, who loved us first and made us his adoptive sons in Jesus. Everything in our lives is a gift of his love: how can we be indifferent before such a great mystery? How can we not respond to the Heavenly Father's love by living as grateful children? In Christ, he gave us the gift of his entire self and calls us to a personal and profound relationship with him.
