The DOST-FNRI develops technologies for nutritious, safe and affordable food products and transfer these to interested entrepreneurs for commercial production and distribution.
From this stems the DOST-FNRI's Program on the Nationwide Technology Transfer and Commercialization of Food Technologies which started in 2010.

This program helps improve the nutritional health of Filipinos while providing economic opportunities to entrepreneurs and their workers and suppliers.

The Institute's goal is achieved transferring commercially-viable technologies to private, government and non-government organizations in the regions or provinces.

The DOST-FNRI provides the necessary technical assistance and consultancy services to successfully set-up and operate the food processing plant.

The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) was established and empowered to implement and oversee a national policy on anti-red tape and ease of doing business and to monitor and evaluate compliance of agencies covered under SEC 3 of R.A. 11032, and issue notice of warning to erring and/or noncomplying government employees or officials.

R.A. 11032 defined "fixer" as any individual whether or not officially involved in the operation of a government office or agency who has access to people working therein, and whether or not in collusion with them, facilitates speedy completion of transactions for pecuniary gain or any other advantage or consideration.

LOOK | Today, a cheque amounting to 500,000 PHP was officially handed over to ALJODTSCO represented by its Chairperson, Ms. Mila Eugenio, by the local government unit of General Santos City, represented by City Mayor Lorelie Geronimo-Pacquiao through the city’s Special Support Fund (SSF) under the Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) Modernization Program.
It can be recalled that the SSF Program was established through Ordinance No. 32, Series of 2021, which aims to provide assistance to qualified transport cooperatives and corporations in the form of a financial grant to aid them in acquiring modern PUVs, in order to meet the required number of units in the approved local public transport route plan (LPTRP). The LPTRP is a requirement from the Omnibus Franchising Guidelines (OFG), which introduced new rules on route planning and setting new standards for vehicles and drivers.

IN PHOTOS | With only ten days left until the grand coronation night, the semi-finalists of this year’s Mr. and Ms. Tourism Gensan participated in a mangrove tree planting activity at Barangay Baluan yesterday, August 22, 2023.

The mangrove planting activity is only one of the many activities that the semi-finalists participate in prior to the coronation night that is set to happen on September 2, 2023 at the Lagao Gymnasium, where only five contenders will be chosen for. The ten semi-finalists, chosen from a total of 65 applicants, also participated in photo and video shoots, interviews, and site visits.

The Mr. and Ms. Tourism pageant is brought to the public by the Local Government Unit of General Santos City (LGU Gensan) through the Tourism Promotions Division of the City Economic Management and Cooperative Development Office (CEMCDO).

LOOK | The semi-finalists of this year’s Mr. and Ms. Tourism Gensan were officially introduced to the officials and employees of the local government unit yesterday, August 14, 2023 during their weekly flag raising ceremony at the Oval Gymnasium.

The candidates rendered a dance number to the officials and employees, followed by their official sashing done by City Mayor Lorelie Geronimo-Pacquiao.

The Mr. and Ms. Tourism Gensan pageant is returning after a four-year hiatus because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and is spearheaded by the City Economic Management and Cooperative Development Office (CEMCDO).

Scholarship for Students 2023

The KPFCEA Scholarship amounting to Php20,000.00 will be awarded to 4 successful applicants, and PERSONAL Scholarship of Php10,000.00 to 6 successful applicants.
Student applicants must be bilingual or majoring in Festival, Tourism, and other Cultural content with a declared interest in this field as a career possibility. They must show a commitment to the festival, tourism, and other cultural content.

For incoming first year students, a minimum high school Experience participating in festivals is required. For higher year levels, an experience or participation in festivals is required. Scholarship is renewable every school year.

Three new lead auditors (LAs) add to the pool of organic lead auditors in the City Government who passed the assessment exam of a CQI and IRCA Certified Lead Auditor Training Course. The successful passers are:
