thoughts to ponder upon

being left out for something is not bad;
maybe God is reserving something better for you.

David didn't leave his task; he took care of the herd.
Gawin mo lang pinapagawa sa'yo ni Lord.

You'll get there because of Him in His perfect time. ❤️

Jacob and Rebekah disapproved of Esau's marriage to the two Canaanite women because the Canaanites had different gods. Yet, Esau insisted. This, in return, brought problems to the family. (Refer to Genesis 24)

It is my first time to write about 'relationships' in my blog.
(As if I'm a guru on this one 😂 not an expert here though)

You, of all people, know when the relationship does NOT give glory to God anymore. When that moment comes, go back to your senses and do everything you can to make the relationship go back on its track and make it work or, in worst cases, depart from it.

There had been a lot of cases in the bible where characters fall back to their call to purity and had resulted to have relations with the people who they have committed sins with.

In most scenarios I've seen, you're going to either end up hurting each other or might regret the decisions you made due to the neglection of the most basic truth we should have in all relationships - it should have been founded in Love. (Yes! Love himself, God.)

Now, I do not say this often but do not enter in a relationship not founded in God.

Malaki ka na.
Alam mo na ang tama at mali.
Alam mo kung anong dapat at hindi dapat gawin sa ngayon.
Alam mo kung anong set of actions ang need mong gawin.

Kung hindi mo alam, consult Him.
Pray, read His word, ask for guidance and help then retrace your steps.

If you're at the verge of deciding whether you are ready to enter a relationship or not, pray ka muna.

May prayer kami mamayang 8:00PM, sali ka? PM me!

Ikaw, baka may insights ka? Comment mo lang!

22/07/2021

You may do a lot for God's Kingdom but are you still connected to God?

Reminder: Have a relationship with the God you serve.

Praying should be a NATURAL activity for Christians. Due to the fact that when you really take interest with someone, you take time to talk with them - same applies with God. You take time to talk with God if you genuinely love to spend time with Him!

We might miss this out sometimes but be more than willing to practice.

Have the eagerness to wait upon the Lord in whichever part of the day you deemed great for your conversation with our Creator - privately para dabest!

Sabi nga sa Matthew 6:5-6 "And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you."

Join us in praying for our nation, every 8:00PM.

Ikaw, anong mo?

20/07/2021

Here's our takeaway from last night's Prayer for the Nations with our exhorter.

20 “They will not hand you over,” Jeremiah replied. “Obey the Lord by doing what I tell you. Then it will go well with you, and your life will be spared.
21 But if you refuse to surrender, this is what the Lord has revealed to me.
*Independent clause, later on we will detail.

INTRODUCTION:
The one who is talking is Jeremiah, who is known as the weeping prophet.
Having a conversation with King Zedekiah.
It is clear that it is message of warning from the Lord.

As we go on, we will know what is this warning for and Zedekiah's response to this warning.

4 POINTS (4 WAYS OF GOD'S MERCY AND GOD'S 4 ATTEMPTS OF WARNING ZEDEKIAH)

I. First Mercy (2 Kings: 24: 2-4)
2 The Lord sent armed bands of Babylonians, Syrians, Moabites, and Ammonites against Jehoiakim to destroy Judah, as the Lord had said through his servants the prophets that he would do.
3 This happened at the Lord's command, in order to banish the people of Judah from his sight because of all the sins that King Manasseh had committed,
4 and especially because of all the innocent people he had killed. The Lord could not forgive Manasseh for that.

Ang nangyari: King Nebuchadnezzar conquered Judah and imprisoned those powerful soldiers and person for assurance and to keep the treaty.

King Nebuchadnezzar appointed Mattaniah as King and changed his name to Zedekiah

Two reasons why God allowed Babylon to capture Judah
•Because of their sin (Manasseh)
•To still show God's grace and mercy, and to avoid full destruction of Judah. Nagkaroon ng kasunduan

But he rebelled against King Nebuchadnezzar who had forced him to swear in God's name that he would be loyal.
It was not mentioned in the bible the specific reason why, maybe because the main point is HE REBELLED

And broke his promise not only to King Nebuchadnezzar, but also to God.

But God still shows mercy

II. 2nd Mercy (Jeremiah 37:6-10)
6 Then the Lord, the God of Israel, told me 7 to say to Zedekiah, “The Egyptian army is on its way to help you, but it will return home.
8 Then the Babylonians will come back, attack the city, capture it, and burn it down.
9 I, the Lord, warn you not to deceive yourselves into thinking that the Babylonians will not come back, because they will.
10 Even if you defeat the whole Babylonian army, so that only wounded men are left, lying in their tents, they would still get up and burn this city to the ground.”

Zedekiah broke his loyalty oath and sought for military help from Egypt. Pero binigyan na siya ni Lord ng paunang salita.

Zedekiah is trying to contradict God's plan with his own plan.

THE PARABLE
Ezekiel 17:3-6 First eagle (represents Babylon)
3 to let them know what I, the Sovereign Lord, am saying to them: There was a giant eagle with beautiful feathers and huge wings, spread wide. He flew to the Lebanon Mountains and broke off the top of a cedar tree,
4 which he carried to a land of commerce and placed in a city of merchants.
5 Then he took a young plant from the land of Israel and planted it in a fertile field,[a] where there was always water to make it grow.
6 The plant sprouted and became a low, wide-spreading grapevine. The branches grew upward toward the eagle, and the roots grew deep. The vine was covered with branches and leaves.

Ezekiel 17:7-10 Second eagle (represents Egypt)
7 “There was another giant eagle with huge wings and thick plumage. And now the vine sent its roots toward him and turned its leaves toward him, in the hope that he would give it more water than there was in the garden where it was growing.[b]
8 But the vine had already been planted in a fertile, well-watered field so that it could grow leaves and bear grapes and be a magnificent vine.
9 “So I, the Sovereign Lord, ask: Will this vine live and grow? Won't the first eagle pull it up by its roots, pull off the grapes, and break off the branches and let them wither? It will not take much strength or a mighty nation to pull it up. 10 Yes, it is planted, but will it live and grow? Won't it wither when the east wind strikes it? Won't it wither there where it is growing?”

Wag taliwasin ang plan ni Lord.
Let us listen to what God is telling us.
He even warned him sa Jer 37:17
When he asked Jeremiah if there was a message from the Lord.

What he only did is that he ordered Jeremiah to be locked up in the palace. Jer 37:21
Still he refused to listen.

III. 3rd Mercy (Jeremiah 37:4-5)

4 Then the officials went to the king and said, “This man must be put to death. By talking like this he is making the soldiers in the city lose their courage, and he is doing the same thing to everyone else left in the city. He is not trying to help the people; he only wants to hurt them.”

5 King Zedekiah answered, “Very well, then, do what you want to with him; I can't stop you.”

Zedekiah fear the princes' complaining but did not fear God's warning
Instead na maimpluwensyahan niya yung mga nasasakupan niya, siya pa yung naimpluwensyahan

Zedekiah has the position as king but he can't position himself to decide as king
A king na dapat last say
A king na dapat ay sinusunod, at hindi ang sumusunod

He entertain the princes suggestions and ignore God's conviction.

Nandoon na, pero he still refuses.

IV. FINAL MERCY (Main text but detailed)
Ito daw po yung mangyayari :
22 In it I saw all the women left in Judah's royal palace being led out to the king of Babylonia's officers. Listen to what they were saying as they went:

‘The king's best friends misled him,
they overruled him.
And now that his feet have sunk in the mud,
his friends have left him.’”
23 Then I added, “All your women and children will be taken out to the Babylonians, and you yourself will not escape from them. You will be taken prisoner by the king of Babylonia, and this city will be burned to the ground.”
Ito po yung naging response ni Zedekiah

At this moment, the Lord spoke to Jeremiah detailed and it was God's final warning to Zedekiah

HOW DID HE RESPOND?

He once again ignore
He wanted to be righteous
Zedekiah in greek means The Lord is righteous.
HE WANTS TO BE RECOGNIZED AS RIGHTEOUS KING but his action and ways just led him to destruction.

He doesn't want himself to be exposed
He still chose to follow his own will not God's will.

Basically, Jeremiah wants to tell Zedekiah that THE SAFEST THING TO DO IS TO OBEY THE VOICE OF THE LORD.

WE WITNESSED ZEDEKIAH'S WEAKNESS
•He rebelled and broke his promise not only to Nebuchadnezzar but also to God
•He contradict God's plans
•He fear warning from people than warning came from God
•Instead of choosing to be righteous in the eyes of God, he chose to be righteous in the eyes of people.

THESE ARE ALSO THE WEAKNESSES THAT LED HIM TO WICKEDNESS.
-why wickedness?
It was the wickedness of keeping silent and allowing compromises which is evil in the sight of the Lord. (James 4:17)

Zedekiah fails to take a firm stand for righteousness.
HE BECAME A PUPPET KING.
Knowing that he received DIRECT message and warning from the Lord.

HIS PUNISHMENT: (Jeremiah 39:6-7)
6 At Riblah he put Zedekiah's sons to death while Zedekiah was looking on, and he also had the officials of Judah executed.
7 After that, he had Zedekiah's eyes put out and had him placed in chains to be taken to Babylonia
It is not to condemn us but for us to realize how merciful our God is.
Let us just have the heart
WAG PO SANA NATING HAYAAN ANG MGA WEAKNESSES NATIN ANG MAGLEAD SA WICKEDNESS.
Ask for God's grace for us to overcome it and believe that God is the true life changer.

It was Abraham who taught me that whatever God gave, your heart should be in Who gave - not on what was given. (Story found in Genesis 22)

To keep this entry short, ANG PUSO MO'Y DAPAT MONG ILAGAY SA NAGTIWALANG MAGBIGAY, HINDI SA IPINAGKAKATIWALANG IBIBIGAY.

What I love about it is this: the one gift given to Abraham had breath - buhay, humihinga.

Dito makikita kung ang pipiliin ni Abraham is yung HININGI o ang nagbigay HININGA?

Why would a gracious God let Abraham experience such turmoil? Due to the fact that God entrusted Abraham, A PROMISE - A PROMISE OF A GREAT NATION.

His One and Only Son to 'humanity' - a word that you can see the letters 'U-N-I', (YOU and I).

One year agoooo! 🙌

Ang tunay na devotion
May transformation
May application
Hindi lang observation
Hindi based on emotion

Gone are the days of mere journalling, studying the word of God is more than its aesthetic designs and outer appearances.

It is far more important than just reading the bible.

It is becoming what is written in the bible.

It's not about what you know about the bible but it's about how the bible changed you from the person you knew before you read it to the person you are right now.

His word is alive.

No one can parallel the magnificent words engraved on a cross.

Words not coming from a dying man but of a Living God.

The very reason you need to read it everyday is, in fact, that this is your spiritual food.

The reason why Jesus stood up from the temptation of the enemy and said "But he answered, It is written,‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’" (Matthew 4:4)

More than bread.
More than the bible.
The word of God is Himself.

Next time you make your devotion, make it because you are committed to doing it.

By the way, may I invite everyone to the Prayer for the Nations, every 8pm! In this way, may we help different countries towards accepting God and becoming Christian Nations despite of the crisis. See you virtually @ Mary Jean Siapno

Andami nating "Paano Kung"

(Genesis 37)

Binenta na.
Inalipin na.
Wala pang kasama sa pit.
Mag-isang lumaki.
Napagbintangang nakisiping sa asawa ng Pharaoh.
Ngunit hindi siya nangamba sa kahihinatnan niya.

Alam niya ang nagbigay ng panaginip niya ay ang Diyos.
Joseph might understand dreams but he gives higher regard to the Dream Giver - the Lord.

Kaya lessen the what if - because the Lord knows if what will happen.

Kanta ng Nguso o Kanta ng Puso?

I've been part of our Worship Team for a while now and it's very important for me to occasionally read Psalms as I ponder upon which songs to choose or which verses to share to His people.

It strucked my heart when the whole point of Psalms is how songs could tell a story of redemption, repentance and restoration alongside with themes of worship.

This is what I have learned thru reading the chapters of David's cry, songs and praises. David is worshipping through his heart.

Sample:
But you, O Lord , are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. I cried aloud to the Lord , and he answered me from his holy hill. Psalm 3:3‭-‬4 ESV

Here, we can easily say that David shows a heart-driven psalm towards the Lord in times of opposition. The nations were against him but he never let this hate hinder him from crying out to God and calling God from His holy hill.

With this, as we worship, worship with our hearts - not with our lips. Focus on the Lord!

What makes me at peace with myself right now is that even I'm at my peak of exhaustion I rendered my thoughts on telling my self that: GOD IS TEACHING ME SOMETHING!

Upon reading the scripture on the 3rd Chapter of Exodus, I then asked myself this: They knew that there was a shorter route but they were cursed to a forty year wandering. But, since they were the wildcard disobeying-yet-still-delivered-from-slavery Israelites, why didn't they just took the shorter route? Simple, they can never cheat their way to the promise. Once you compromise, you rob yourself out of the promise.

Then I thought to myself,
THEY WERE EXHAUSTED.
THEY WERE DRAINED.
THEY FELT LOST.

Regardless of such, these were all still due to their disobedience.

They could've just obeyed, right? But they didn't.

This was a learning moment for each Israelite to never defy God - and of course, complain of your current suffering (which we, honestly, often brought ourselves into).

Died off, the unbelieving generation no longer existed the day their fellows set foot on the land "flowing of milk and honey".

This really reminds me of how disobedience can rob you out of the promise and how compromise can never compare to the promise.

All these taken into account, I always remind myself that when I'm at the brink of my thoughts, I choose to tame them [my thoughts]. I choose to refuse to go on a shorter route with the lesser experience and take the road not often taken but jam-packed with learnings.

Yeah, it might have rough patches along the way. But, hey! As it was been pointed out by my Highschool shirt: "When the going gets rough, only the TOUGH gets going."

Toughen up, thoughtful!

Just keep on obeying the Lord, trusting the Lord and leaning your whole being towards Him!

I paused for a moment and read my devotional series on how each disciple was called and it ended as a "jaw-dropping" experience.

It was as if the 'word' resonated with my recent ensemble.

I shared with a couple of people that I was rethinking my first release of my Podcast Episodes which I already recorded 3 of them but there was this part of me that really wants to examine my motives and intentions.

It was two painstaking, nerve-racking and patience testing weeks before I came into this point that I totally got a hold of the hype and treated as if this podcasting idea is all for God's glory - not because I wanted to or because some people are doing it.

JUST BECAUSE OF THIS DAY'S DEVOTIONAL ENTRY on my newly received hidden in the stash of Angelittle which you can easily get yours on their Shopee Store and THIS DAY'S EPISODE OF posted on Ps. Mary Jean Siapno's Facebook Profile.

It was one of those moments that it became a profound realization why would such thing happen.

It was by then I came out with this thought and I hope you get along with this train:

Matthew 4:18 says,
Jesus was walking by the sea of Galilee when He called Simon Peter and his bro, Andrew.

First Realization: Jesus value the relationship that Simon Peter had with his bro, Andrew, to show how the 'brethren' relationship is closely observed when it comes to having a relationship with the Lord.

Second Realization: Jesus was literally walking at the shore of the very sea that He's going to command the disciples to voyage in to see how their faith has grown. This was the time even the laws of physics obeyed Jesus. Jesus took PETER back to the very place where he followed Jesus and how he has been by then.

Third realization: When these first disciples were called, Jesus isn't that popular yet. He was yet to start His ministry, therefore, words about Him are minimal. Yet, these two LEFT THEIR NETS - their business; their lives. All with the reason of following Him. It was that moment that I realized Peter and Andrew wasn't in for the fame or even the luxury of being dubbed as a follower of Christ. They responded because of the one they called them.

How did this help me in my podcast paradigm? I reminded myself of whose business I want to grow and that is the Lord's. I reminded myself who called me in the very first place and how he had equipped me in this voyage.

Let me know your thoughts on this story. Comment below! 🙌

Noong naisip ko ito, fresh manna talaga. While reading Moses' story and the 40-year wandering, dili na lang ako mag-talk.

09/06/2021

Huwag kang mag-alala. Natamaan din ako.

Ansakit.

I woke up this morning and pondered upon the verses in the 4th Chapter of James which openly talks about submission to the Lord and boasting about tomorrow.

It taught me well on aspects of the reality of life quarrels that reflect upon the inward nature of man that gets anchored with pride when tempted to do so. That inward nature, when supplemented with motives, could drive someone to do heinous pleasures inspired by wrong motives - which may result to being friends with the world and enemies of God.

Remember, the letter of James was addressed to the early Christian Churches. This means that this is widely taken as moralistic than dogmatic - a letter to address strongly offensive behaviors and a reminder to adhere to the teachings of Jesus Christ on matters of relationships and brotherhood.

While reading these series of corrections I came upon a verse cited from two verse of both Old and New Testament scriptures:

James 4:6 tells us that, "But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud; but shows favor to the humble.” which is supplemental to the thoughts on Proverbs 3:34 and Matthew 23:12 which reminds us of the importance of humility at the midst of growth in Christ.

May we reminded that no matter how INTELLIGENT, WISE, WELL-VERSED, EXPERIENCED and WELL-SPOKEN, we are not to boast of ourselves.

When we grow, we grow in Christ and we boast of Christ.

This is a reminder applicable to all aspects.

Ikaw, ano ba ang importance sayo ng pagpapakumbaba?

Lagi kong pinapaalala sa sarili ko - there's a greater experience in obedience.

Better than sacrifice, gifts and service - being able to obey the commandments of the Lord rest supreme.

If there's one thing I learned these past months, it is to always obey the Lord - EVEN WHEN YOU ARE ALONE, most especially then.

And here's a brief peek on what I had experienced,

First experience is joy. There's a greater joy found when you continue to walk in the path of God's grace and leading. That joy is immeasurable - uncontainable.

Then, there's peace. Sleeping at night knowing that you are at peace with your Creator is one of the most comforting fact I had these times of trying.

Finally, we have hope. Yes, such intrinsic motivation to carry on comes from the Lord was provided. If there's an experience I will never forget, it's the confidence you get from the promise given by the Promise Keeper.

It's having joy, peace and hope - an experience in obedience.

What's great is this, it does not end there. You unlock the fulness of God's blessing as you commit yourself in knowing, speaking and living the truth of obedience.

As much as it is, here lies God's love - keeping His commands in which are not burdensome. (1 John 5:3)

Besides, every blessing/promise has a prerequisite command to be followed.

How about you - what have you experienced as you obey the Lord?
Would love to hear from you in the comments section! 👇

I remembered what I shared at the first day of 2021 at our Core Leaders' Meeting. It was entitled "Plans", if you heard me share before you know me as someone who played with words and used puns on my title yet this one's different - the simplest title but the most intricate one to discuss.

And here's part 2...

Some of us love planning our lives. We visualize who we want to be 5 years, 10 years, or even beyond. Others choose not to plan and want to go with the flow of life.

Whether you are the former or the latter, pursuing a future career or a personal calling in life matters, especially that we are wired to do specific things––business, arts, music, and many others.

On March 13, 2021, at 5:00PM to 7:00PM (GMT+8). Q-TALKS is bringing an exciting series of talks featuring different speakers from different backgrounds.

Pastor Archie Dela Cruz will be speaking about "The Value of Mental Health while Pursuing God's Calling."

Interior Designer––Juan Dexter Baring will be sharing about "Bouncing from Every Setback."

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. - Romans 10:17

When you deepen yourself in the Word, you deafen yourself from the world.

Faith up means to read up!

28/02/2021

And if it comes to a point that I want to give up - I will not give in because God gave out his love for us. I may not match all the goodness of God in my life but maybe in the way of not giving up and straying away from my walk of faith I might just give what is due to God.

This message struck me with the realization that brought me through seasons of being persecuted, misunderstood, pressured and other seasons that challenged my spiritual relationship with the Lord.

Today, I want to share three verses that I have found helpful over the past few years, that have bolstered my resolve and given me hope. I’m hoping that they can give you some encouragement as well:

Psalm 27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?

Isaiah 41:13 For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Kaya natin ito, Kapatid. Kapit lang!
