OPEN CALL: GALILA Arts Festival 2024 Program Proposals 🥳

Calling all local creatives within the Fourth District of Pangasinan! Submit your event/program proposals for the upcoming GALILA Arts Festival by August 21, 2024. Showcase your talent, engage the community, and be part of an unforgettable celebration of creativity with the Fourth District of Pangasinan!

Performances, film screenings, exhibitions, murals, workshops and MORE! We invite local communities to submit proposals for creative activations for the upcoming GALILA Arts Festival. This festival aims to celebrate the diverse talents and expressions of our community members, fostering collaboration, inclusion, and creativity. We encourage proposals that engage with various art forms, including but not limited to visual arts, performing arts, music, literature, and MORE.

The theme for this year’s GALILA Arts Festival is "Locally Led, Community Crafted".

📌GUIDELINES:

Theme: Proposals should align with the overarching theme of the festival, which is "Locally Led, Community Crafted". Submissions that creatively interpret or explore this theme are highly encouraged.

Community Involvement: We prioritize proposals that actively involve and engage local communities in the creative process. Projects should aim to empower participants and celebrate the unique cultural identities and talents within our community.

Artistic Vision: Proposals should articulate a clear artistic vision, including objectives, concept, and proposed activities. We encourage innovative and interactive projects that captivate audiences and encourage participation.

Feasibility: Applicants should demonstrate the feasibility of their proposed project, including budget considerations, space requirements, and logistical details. Collaborations with local businesses, organizations, or venues are welcomed.

Impact: Consideration will be given to projects that have the potential to leave a lasting impact, spark dialogue, or inspire positive change within the community.

📌PROCESS:

Proposals must be submitted electronically via [email protected] by August 21, 2024 (11:59PM).
Each proposal should include the following:
1) a detailed project overview
2) a budget outline
3) a timeline for implementation
and any supporting materials such as sketches, designs, or previous work samples.

Selection Process:
Selection criteria will include artistic merit, alignment with the festival theme, community engagement, feasibility, and potential impact. Selected applicants will be notified by August 23, 2024 and provided with further instructions for participation.

Embracing the ethos of creativity and community empowerment, this festival seeks to provide a platform for residents to actively participate in shaping and showcasing their cultural heritage, artistic expressions, and collective identities. A mixed (curated and open access) arts festival, by the beach, that champions public spaces, local small businesses and the future of creativity as a shore win. 🏖
