June 19, 2024| Dr. Jose Rizal Memorial Hospital commemorates the 163rd birth Anniversary of Dr. Jose P. Rizal with Thanksgiving Celebration of these milestones: DJRMH Upgrading to Level II Hospital; ribbon cutting and blessing of BUCAS sa DJRMH and Hemodialysis Unit; and blessing of the Ambulatory Chemotherapy Unit.

Thank you to all our esteemed guests who joined our special celebration today.

June 3, 2024| In observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Dr. Jose Rizal Memorial Hospital conducts random drug testing to hospital employees (regular, job order, contract of service including security guards) pursuant to the institution's Drug Free Workplace policy.

The activity is made possible through the partnership with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional/Provincial Offices spearheaded by IAV Ariel L. Escudero, Provincial Officer of PDEA Zamboanga del Norte.

The DJRMH aims to ensure a drug free workplace in support towards the goal of achieving a world free of drug abuse.

It is a day to celebrate the lives of those who have fought cancer and won. It's a time for survivors to connect with each other, share their experiences, and provide hope to those currently battling the disease.

This day is not only about commemoration but also a time to raise awareness and advocate for better quality of life for cancer survivors. Whether through social media, community events, or personal gestures, every effort will help make a difference.

Kasabay ng pagdiriwang ng Pride Month ngayon buwan ng Hunyo, patuloy ang serbisyong pangkalusugan na naglalayong wakasan ang diskriminasyon sa mga sakit tulad ng HIV/AIDS, ,TB, at iba pang uri ng hindi pantay na pagtingin sa mga kabilang sa LGBTQIA+ Community.

Kasama ang Kagawaran ng Kalusugan (DOH) sa pagsulong, pagbalangkas, at pagpapalawig ng serbisyong pangkalusugan na para sa lahat mula sa layuning makamit ang Universal Health Care, dahil sa Bagong Pilipinas, Bawat Buhay Mahalaga.

Dr. Jose Rizal Memorial Hospital's Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Services (BUCAS sa DJRMH) opens its doors today, May 31, 2024.

It is located within the hospital's premises to cater to non emergent cases.

BUCAS sa DJRMH is in support of the DOH's sa Bagong Pilipinas, Bawa't Buhay Mahalaga.

May 31, 2024| Dr. Jose Rizal Memorial Hospital celebrates World No To***co Day spearheaded by the Public Health Unit through the Health Education and Promotion Office and Smoking Cessation Clinic (SCC) at the 2nd Floor Adolescent Center Activity Area this afternoon.

Health is Life campaign was discussed by Michelle Fe Santos, HEPO/SCC Educator, emphasizing the Priority Areas (PA) focusing on PA 5 "Do not smoke, avoid alcohol and say no to drugs." The aim is to promote healthy behaviors among the participants including their families and children.

Abigail Ruiz, SCC Coordinator, encouraged to refer family and love ones who are smokers to the DJRMH SCC. Jann Earl Recamara, SCC Nurse Designate, on the other hand, conducted a short orientation on the hospital's no smoking policy and shared real life effects of smoking/va**ng that he encountered in the Operating Room.

A photo opportunity with Dr. Maria Dinna C. Viray-Pariñas, Medical Center Center, followed after the Open Forum. Distribution of snacks and No Smoking Stickers ended the activity.

May 30, 2024| The Dr. Jose Rizal Memorial Hospital observes the Cervical Cancer Awareness Month spearheaded by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Public Health Unit through the Health Education and Promotion Office.

Dr. Ana Claudine Zamora from the Department of OBGYN shared her expertise for the Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) and Pap smear among the second batch of doctors, nurses and midwives coming from the Local Government Units of Zamboanga del Norte as a refresher course for the ongoing Nationwide Cervical Cancer Screening Campaign to be conducted from May to July this year.

RHUs/CHOs present yesterday were from Gutalac, Tampilisan, Liloy, Piñan, Godod, Rizal, La Libertad, Roxas, Sibutad, Salug, Dapitan, Manukan and Siayan.

Free VIA and Pap smear were conducted among women ages 30-65 years old right after the refresher course.

Thank you to the twenty (20) women who availed the free VIA and Pap smear for the two-day cervical cancer screening campaign of our institution.

"Regular Pap smear may help prevent cervical cancer by finding cervical cell changes in your body that would become cancer if left untreated. It also helps find cervical cancer early before you have symptoms, before it spreads and when it is easier to treat."

"This activity aims to support those who have been affected in some way by the global HIV pandemic by mobilizing communities for a world where people do not die of AIDS and people living with HIV can live healthy lives and be respected."
