As the Philippines faces another emerging health emergency with the very first case of monkeypox, it is imperative that we arm ourselves of reliable facts. This disease presents as a two-horned dilemma... the first horn being the disruption of the physiologic status of the individual and the latter the social stigma that surrounds the infected.

We are now into a new age where we are more patient-sensitive, more aware of the patient's mental health and that ethical principles are kept in the highest consideration. Let us not discriminate patients with monkeypox but rather support and pray for their speedy recovery.
