Due to potential health risks and the current inclement weather brought by the smog of the Taal Volcano, the Institutional Student Council has decided to POSTPONE the Lasallian General Assembly 2024 scheduled today, August 19, to ensure the safety and well-being of our student body. We will provide an update on the new date for the event as soon as possible.

As the new Academic Year 2024-2025 kicks-off, 4th year students have been deployed to various partner internship sites of DMQCP covering the different fields of pharmacy, including the community, hospital, industrial, public health and regulatory, and institutional fields of the practice.

The Dr. Mariano Que College of Pharmacy continues to hone brilliance, and produce practice-ready Lasallian Pharmacists through the Supervised Pharmacy Practice Experience (SPPE) headed by the college’s Department of Clinical/Practical Training and Internship.

DMQCP is fully committed to bringing excellence honed inside its four walls out into the perpetually growing Pharmacy practice.

𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: 𝐊𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐌𝐐𝐂𝐏’𝐬 𝐈𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝑫𝒆𝑸𝑼𝑬𝒅𝒂

To kickstart the celebration of the 10th founding anniversary of the college, the De La Salle Pharmacy Alumni Association (DLSPhAA), in coordination with the Department of Clinical/Practical Training and Internship, held "Transcendence: Beyond Boundaries," the Alumni and Partners' Night. This event took place last August 3, 2024, at the De La Salle Animo Center.

One of the highlights of the event was the keynote address delivered by Vivian Que-Azcona, President of Mercury Drug Corporation. In her speech, she emphasized that transcendence means going beyond one's own abilities. To achieve this, she stated that one must be compassionate, create selfless goals, and dedicate oneself to others.

The event also recognized significant milestones and service awards for the college's alumni. It honored the 2024 DLSPhAA Wood Jubilarians, the Class of 2019, and the Lasallian Service Awardee, an award given to an alumnus who has provided exceptional service to the college.

Dean Louie Fernand D. Legaspi, RPh, MHSS, also took the opportunity to present the college's five-year plan, using the acronym LEGACY: Leadership in Pharmacy & Public Health; Excellence in Research and Development; Global Impact and Reputation; Advancing Collaborative Partnerships; Community Engagement and Service; and "You" Empowerment.

It was a night full of celebration for what the DMQCP has achieved over the past 10 years. These accomplishments would not have been possible without the support of the institution's administrators and key stakeholders who have consistently backed the college. We, the Pharmily, are always grateful and excited for what lies - beyond boundaries.

𝐃𝐫. 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐲 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐬 𝐏𝐑𝐂'𝐬 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝

Dr. Alicia P. Catabay, the founding dean of the college and the current Collegiate Chair of the Research and Development Department, has been recognized by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) as the 2024 Outstanding Professional of the Year Award in the Field of Pharmacy. The award was presented today, August 2, 2024, at the Forbes Ballroom, Conrad Manila, Pasay City.

The Outstanding Professional of the Year Award is the Commission's highest recognition given to a professional, as nominated by her peers, for demonstrating exceptional professional competence of the highest degree and conducted with integrity in the pharmacy profession.

This accolade has been a testament of Dr. Catabay's significant influence and contribution not only to DMQCP, but also in shaping the pharmacy profession. Quoting her own words, "𝐻𝑜𝑤 𝑑𝑜 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑚𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑢𝑟𝑒 𝑎𝑐ℎ𝑖𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡? 𝑌𝑜𝑢 𝑚𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑢𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑝𝑒𝑜𝑝𝑙𝑒 𝑤ℎ𝑜 𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑠𝑢𝑝𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡 𝑦𝑜𝑢."

The faculty members of DMQCP held the 4th College General Faculty and Staff Meeting today, August 1, 2024, at the Accreditation Room. This meeting is joined by both current and incoming faculty members and staff. Facilitated by both Dean Louie Fernand D. Legaspi, RPh, MHSS and Vice Dean Diana Dalisay A. Orolfo, RPh, MPH, the meeting served as a good opportunity to present the College’s achievements over the past academic year (AY) and to chart an exciting course as they navigate the new AY.

Some notable events of the past year include:
- Stellar board examination performance during the November 2023 and April 2024 Pharmacist’s Licensure Examination;
- Faculty and student achievements in national and international competitions
- Research initiatives and services;
- Community outreach projects, and;
- Numerous student recognitions and faculty awards.

Looking ahead, the College plans include:
- an innovative Masters degree program;
- Expanding research opportunities;
- New partnerships and collaborations, and;
- Continued commitment to excellence in education and service learning.

Congratulations to Dr. Catabay and Ma'am Basilides for being elected as Philippine Pharmacists Association (PPhA) - Cavite Chapter officers for 2024-2026!

Alicia P. Catabay, RPh, MSc, PhD, was elected as the President, while Maria Teresa T. Basilides, RPh, was elected as the Assistant Secretary. Currently, Dr. Catabay serves as the Chair for the Research and Development Department, while Ma'am Basilides serves as the Academic Department Chair for Pharmacy Practice (Level III). The election was held on July 6, 2024, at the Casa De Celo, Imus.

The 1st Faculty Research Colloquium held on June 27, 2024, at the DMQCP Student Center was a momentous occasion in our 10-year history, celebrating the culmination of dedicated research efforts by our beloved faculty members. The event was spearheaded by Dr. Alicia Catabay, Chair for Research & Development, and attended by faculty and staff, families, friends, sponsors, and guests.

The Dr. Mariano Que College of Pharmacy has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence in both pharmaceutical education and research since its establishment. To ensure our continued exemplary performance, we conducted a three-day Strategic Planning Workshop from June 19 to June 21, 2024, from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM at the DMQCP 4th Floor Accreditation Room.

The rapidly evolving education, pharmaceutical, and health landscape necessitates a proactive approach to maintain our College’s position at the forefront of our field. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Br. Lawrence Aikee R. Esmeli FSC, Director of the Strategic Management Office; Richard Simon R. Binos, RPh, the external facilitator of the activity; and our faculty and students/alumni for their invaluable contributions in achieving the objectives of the workshop.

It was indeed a productive and engaging discussion for shaping the future of our beloved College in service to our beloved stakeholders.
