HCA HISTORY
The Holy Cross of Agdao, formerly named St. Anthony established in 1964 by the foreign Missionaries of Quebec (The PME Fathers) to cater to the educational needs of the youth of Agdao and its neighboring communities. Fr. George Reid, PME, founded the school. He was the first Director who served the school from 1964 – 1969. He was assisted by Mr. Benjamin Bautista, the school’s first Principal, whose term of office was from 1964 – 1967. Mrs. Ines Consemino assumed the principalship from 1967 – 1986. Dduring the directorship of Fr. Guy Poupart, an Assistant Director was appointed in the person of Mr. Eleuterio Dutosme, who served until 1986.
A. PME Fathers who served as Directors were the following:
Fr. George Reid, PME (1964-1967)

In 1986, to comply with the full implementation of the Filipinization Law of 1979, the school fell under the supervision of Archbishop Antornio Ll. Mabutas, D.D., who also served as the President of the Diocesan Schools. The Congregation of the Teresian Daughters of Mary, a diocesan congregation, formally took over the Administration, with Sr. Ma. Cristina Cachero, TDM as the First Directress/Principal.
The following Sisters served as Directress/Principal of the School:
Sr. Ma. Cristina Cachero, TDM (1986-1992)
Sr. Ma. Bernadette Roldan, TDM (1992-1993)
Sr. Ma. Gertrudes Neri, TDM (1993-1997)

Fr. Reid started the school with two (2) wooden classrooms. The following years saw the gradual expansion of the said classrooms to accommodate the growing number of students. The expansion included the adding of various instructional facilities such as the Audio-Visual Room (AVR), Computer and Speech Laboratories and the Library. Other facilities were also added such as the Clinic and the Gymnasium.
The accomplishments of the PME Fathers were followed through by the TDM Sisters. The TDM Sisters initiated the construcion of a progressive type three (3) storey building in the school yerar 2001.
For all these efforts, the school Board merits and acknowledges with gratitude, the Administration – past and present. For continued support and cooperation, the school board also thanks the faculty and staff and the students and their parents.
