The 10th Anniversary of the LEAD Awards

Respected personalities coming from the JCI Senate and the different sectors of the Davao community dressed in handsome barong Tagalog for the gentlemen and Filipiniana outfits for the ladies converged at the Grand Ballroom of the Acacia Hotel Davao last August 31, 2024. The special event was to celebrate 10th Anniversary and the awarding ceremony of the LEAD Awards 2024.
“The ultimate goal of the LEAD Awards is to create a virtuous cycle of men and women who, inspired by the achievements of our LEAD honorees, will work towards helping make our city a better place to live and work in….Given this ultimate goal, the Davao Jaycee Senate (DJS) recognizes that we need to create and sustain the conditions that will make the LEAD Awards a powerful force in inspiring others to emulate the examples of our LEAD Honorees. And, in the process, make our city a better place to live and work in,” said JCI Sen. Manuel “Bobby” Orig, the Davao Jaycee Senate Founder of the LEAD Awards which was established in 2013.
This year’s LEAD Awards is a banner project of the Davao Jaycee Senate under the leadership of Jaycee Senate President Joselito C. Oasan with JC Senator Chairman Renauld Candia who headed the momentous undertaking. This year’s panel of judges of unquestioned competence and integrity who were introduced by the personable JCI Sen. George Walter M. Misa included Joji Ilagan-Bian, Perla Kwan, Jeremy Eliab, Dr. Guillermo Torres and Roberto Quinto.
The presentation of the 2024 LEAD Honorees was remarkably done by former Davao Jaycee Senate President Jocelyn Tagle-Ledesma who looked resplendent in her sky blue terno. This year’s LEAD awardees include the Most Outstanding School Head Teacher and Great Institutional Leadership Awardee 2021, Armando N. Blando, who was recognized for his unwavering commitment to education, environmental stability, and cultural preservation of the Bagobo-Tagabawa customs and traditions. Noemi A. Amandoron was honored with the 2023 Aguila Award for being the Most Outstanding Instructional Teacher. She is also considered the Modern Day Hero and pride of the Matigsalug Tribe who is distinguished for her leadership in the Advancement and Empowerment of the IP Communities. The last honoree, Agripino Torres, has been recognized by the City Government of Davao with the Pagsidungog: Garbo sa Davao. In 2019, he was awarded the Cooperative Leader Award by the Cooperative Development Authority of Region XI. He is well honored for his advocacy on Harnessing Cooperative Power for Community Development. Each awardee was given the chance to express their acceptance remarks which showed their love and commitment for their advocacy and mission in life.
The Lead Awardees were each given a trophy made by artiste Kublai Milan. The trophy symbolizes stability, strength, and endurance. By the end of the ceremony, the Chairperson of the Mindanao Development Authority and a 2021 Lead Honoree, the suave Leo Tereso Abellera Magno delivered his speech followed by the Closing Remarks of the Chairman of the LEAD Organizing Committee, JCI Sen. Renauld N. Candia. Serving as Master of Ceremonies was the 2024 National Secretary General of JCI Philippines Hannah Chloe S. Cano.

MAGSIGE MPC Brings Joy to Padre Pio Orphanage in Celebration of 16th Founding Anniversary

On September 07, 2024, MAGSIGE MPC has initiated gift-giving activity at the Padre Pio Orphanage. The event embodied the cooperative’s commitment to serving the community by bringing joy and hope to the children. MAGSIGE MPC shared not only gifts but also their time and compassion, making the day a memorable celebration of love, care, and unity. This initiative reflects the true essence of the cooperative's mission to uplift and support those in need and creating a lasting positive impact.

On this special day, we honor the mother of our Lord, who continues to inspire us with her love, faith, and grace. May her example guide us in our daily lives, and may we always seek her intercession as we walk in faith. 🙏

Celebrating Farmers Day with Magsige MPC!

On September 6, 2024, we gathered at the Magsige MPC Training and Assessment Center to honor our hardworking farmer-members during our special Farmers Day event inline with the 16th Founding Anniversary of MAGSIGE MPC.

In partnership with Agridom, Farmtech Agriland Corporation, City Agriculturist Office, and CDP Philippines, the event was a tremendous success, bringing together farmers for a day of learning, networking, and celebration.

Our farmer-members had the opportunity to explore new agricultural techniques, gain insights from industry experts, and connect with fellow farmers. From interactive workshops to inspiring talks, it was a day filled with growth and community spirit.

Spearheaded by JCI Senate Davao, this recognition highlights his dedication and impact on the community. Today marks a new beginning for MAGSIGE MPC as we break ground on the Inspire Project, granted by the Department of Agriculture XI. This initiative is set to transform our community and agricultural practices, paving the way for a brighter future!

MAGSIGE MPC representatives, headed by CEO Agripino L. Torres, paid a visit to the Office of the Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines on July 23, 2024, to discuss potential collaborations and advancements for ongoing and future projects. They were welcomed by the Director of Operations of the OVP, Mr. Norman Baloro. Also present during the visit were Mr. Richard Rosales, the Regional Division Head, and Ms. Pavi Rodes from the MAGSIGE MPC Training and Assessment Center.

Empowering Futures: The distribution of tool kits from TESDA and Office of Congressman Isidro Ungab to the Dressmaking NC II graduates from MAGSIGE MPC Training and Assessment Center last June 27, 2024! Thanks to TESDA XI and Congressman Ungab's office, 25 graduates each from Tugbok District and Toril received tool kits to kickstart their careers.
