🐾 Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially fatal condition that is prevalent in dogs, especially in areas with a high mosquito population. This is why we are launching an information drive to raise awareness about heartworm and its prevention.

🐶 We recently had a canine patient who tragically did not survive heartworm disease. We want to share his story to emphasize the importance of prevention and regular screenings for our furry friends.

🚫 Objection 1: "My dog doesn't go outside much, so he's not at risk."
Unfortunately, all dogs are at risk for heartworm if they are not on preventative medication, as mosquitoes can easily find their way inside.

🚫 Objection 2: "Preventative medication is expensive."
While there may be a cost associated with preventative medication, it is much more affordable than treating heartworm disease, which can be a lengthy and costly process.

🚫 Objection 3: "I don't like giving my dog medication."
We understand the concern, but the benefits of preventative medication far outweigh the potential risks.

🚫 Objection 4: "My dog doesn't show any symptoms, so he must be healthy."
Unfortunately, dogs with heartworm disease may not show symptoms until the disease has progressed.

We urge all pet owners to discuss heartworm prevention with their veterinarians and to consider starting their pets on preventative medication. Let's and keep our furry friends safe! 🐶
