A special congratulations to our graduate, Nerfee Casilao, who earned 7th place in the recent MT Licensure Exam!

: The Silliman University (SU) Institute of Clinical Laboratory Sciences (ICLS) and the entire SU community are proud of Nerfee C. Casilao for placing 7th in the August 2024 Medical Technologists Licensure Examination!

According to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), 3,872 out of 5,574 passed the Medical Technologists Licensure Examination. The National Passing Rate was 69.47%.

Meanwhile, SU garnered an 85.42%. overall performance with First-time passers garnering a 91.89% passing rate.

Here’s a cheer for you, Nerfee, and all our SU ICLS passers for a job well done! You make us all very proud!

With an impressive overall performance rate of 85.42% and a remarkable 91.89% pass rate for first-time candidates, our results surpass the national average of 69.47%.

The Institute of Clinical Laboratory Sciences invites the Junior Katusoks and Interns to a 2-day comprehensive review on Clinical Chemistry to be given by 𝘿𝙧. 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙖 𝙏𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙖 𝙏. 𝙍𝙤𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙪𝙚𝙯, a certified international medical laboratory scientist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology. She is recognized internationally for her contributions to Clinical Chemistry on new kidney function tests including the beta 2-microglobulin and cystatin C. She is also the author of comprehensive review handbooks in Clinical Chemistry and Diagnostic Bacteriology under C&E Publishing, Inc. which have helped countless of students in their preparations for the Medical Technology Licensure Examination.

Let us catch Dr. Rodriguez virtually this 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟏𝟓 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟏𝟔, 𝟖𝐀𝐌 𝐭𝐨 𝟓𝐏𝐌 𝐯𝐢𝐚 𝐙𝐎𝐎𝐌. See you!

Despite all the challenges and obstacles that have come their way, SU ICLS's Batch 2023 will now commence their Internship Year of the Medical Technology Program.

As these students take one step closer towards their hopes, dreams, and aspirations - their 𝙃𝙞𝙧𝙖𝙮𝙖 - the Institute of Clinical Laboratory Sciences will hold its Pinning Ceremony on August 31, 2022 at the Silliman University Church, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. It will also be live-streamed on the Institute of Clinical Laboratory Sciences - Silliman University's page.

Come and join us in celebration as we officially welcome the new 212 Medical Technology Interns for this Academic Year.

With the resumption of face-to-face classes, continuing students (incoming Sophomores and Juniors) are required to submit the following requirements on or before September 15, 2022:
1. Original Application Form with 2x2 picture
2. Ishihara Test Result
3. Hepatitis AgAb Test Result

-Requirements are to be placed inside a short brown envelope with the student's full name in all caps on the upper left side of the envelope.
-Questions regarding requirements will be entertained by the ICLS office via email or phone. Please see page info for contact information.

Good news! The ICLS just opened its Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory. Students in the ICLS will soon be able to perform some of the latest molecular diagnostics techniques such as PCR, enzyme-linked immunoassays, and other advanced nucleic acid and protein assays.

The PASMETH/PAMET-USA Scholarship Grant for Medical Technology Internship is a collaborative project between the Philippine Association of Schools of Medical Technology and Public Health (PASMETH) and the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists – USA. The said scholarship program aims to support financially challenged but academically gifted Medical Technology students in their internship rotation. Recipients of the said scholarship program are entitled to receive financial support for their tuition fees for internship including affiliation fees as assessed by PASMETH and PAMET-USA.
