Beside the fact that connectivity is still very patchy in the island, our main focus is to help the victims of the deadly supertyphoon. We have bought essential material, supplies and medication to help our employees and their families rebuild their lodging and life. It’s an unprecedented tragedy.

With regards to cancellations and rebookings, we have taken the hard decision that we will only be doing rebooking instead of a cancellation. All rebookings can be extended until 2023. As some of you generously offered, you may also opt to donate your deposit for the victims and the rebuilding effort.

We will make another announcement regarding reopening once we have more visibility on timelines.
In the meantime, once again thank you for your generosity and good vibes, Siargao will be magnificent again❤️

A HUUUGE thank you for the friends of Mango Tree Siargao that generously contributed to our project to rebuild houses and shelters for our staff and their families. We have bought some essential supplies, including food, material and diesel for our generator. Here are some pictures taken recently showing you the progress of our efforts. There is some still so much to do left, but our dedication is intact. Once again thank you and please do not hesitate to help us more, your are our community saviors and we are so grateful !! 🙏

On December 16th, the small island of Siargao in the Philippines was hit by Typhoon Odette — one of the strongest storms on Earth this year and declared Category 5.

As of today (December 21st), 95% of Siargao has been completely destroyed. People are homeless, starving and dehydrated as all food sources and clean water have been depleted. Those who were able to evacuate are describing the island as a "war zone."

The island is in critical situation and need your help.

Mango Tree Siargao was incorporated in 2019, as an eco-friendly resort in a remote and preserved area on Siargao Island. Since the beginning we have strived to create a sustainable environment where local communities are supported and employed.
During the Covid 19 pandemic, MTS have been regularly donating food and supplies to our employees, their families and the local community residing in the Tawin neighborhood.
Our philosophy has always been to share The Mango Tree adventure with the local community and with what just happened, we are now supporting the aftermath of this tragedy as best as we can.

Our first action is to raise funding for our staff and their families. They have lost absolutely everything, except their lives - thank God.
They are in need of rebuilding their houses, at the moment they don’t have a roof for them and their children. They also need food and running water. We have made our diesel generator available to them as well as running water (not drinkable though), and we are currently organizing transportation of materials and first aid necessities from neighboring islands.
No more trees mean extreme heat, mosquitos’ proliferation and the risk of fast developing diseases.

The funds will be used as follows:
• Building shelters and houses for local Tawin families
• Provide running water, drinkable water, food, medicines
• Repair all the buildings
• Continue to support communities by providing jobs and income for their families
• Ensure healthy livable conditions for all
