Earthquake Safety at Home

Prepare your home and family members for an earthquake. Familiarize your family with the community earthquake evacuation plan. Conduct and participate in regular earthquake drills. When a strong shaking starts, STAY CALM. When you are INSIDE a structurally sound building stay there and do the “Duck, Cover, and Hold.” If you are OUTSIDE move to an open area. Once the shaking stops, take the fastest and safest way out of the building. Be prepared for aftershocks.

SYNOPSIS: At 3:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Storm "EGAY" was estimated based on all available data at 685 km East of Virac, Catanduanes (14.4°N, 130.5°E) with maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 90 km/h. It is moving Westward at 15 km/h. Southwest Monsoon affecting the western sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

The keywords for this contest are Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and the 4 thematic areas, namely,
(1) Disaster Prevention and Mitigation;
(2) Disaster Preparedness;
(3) Disaster Response; and
(4) Disaster Rehabilitation and Recovery, which correspond to the structure of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

MECHANICS:

1. The contest is open to all interested Goaeños.

a. soft copy in 8.27” x 11.69” (A4 size) for printing.

4. Submitted work shall be an original work of the participant. The participant shall be held accountable for any issues that may question the originality and authenticity of the design.

6. The contest duration is from July 4 to July 17, 2022. Deadline of submission will be on or before July 17 at 11:59 PM at [email protected] . Failure to submit the complete requirements (soft copy and rationale) will result in disqualification.

8. The decision of the panel of judges is final and incontestable based on the following criteria:
30% – Originality and Distinctiveness of Entry
50% – Concept relevant to DRRM
20% – Impact and Creativity
9.Only one winner will be selected. The winner will be posted on MDRRMO GOA Official FB page.
10. Winner will receive the following prizes:

11. Winning entry shall become the property of the MDRRMO GOA.
12. By submitting an entry, participants shall agree to allow the MDRRMO GOA to reproduce, distribute, display, and create derivative works of the winning or non-winning entries for marketing, educational, and promotional purposes in any media platform at any time.
13. The decision of the judges selected by the MDRRMO shall be final and irrevocable.
