Criminology instructors gathered at the CCJE 2-day Extension Activity in Brgy. Camparang, Guiuan, Eastern Samar, held on November 17-18, 2023 with the theme: S.U. R.V.I.V.E (Size Up the situation and Remember to Vanquish fear and Improvise Various surviving Equipment). The program covered informative topics, from the meticulous art of detecting deception concerning counterfeit currency to practicing crucial survival skills with Basic Water Survival training. They also covered the importance of life jackets, the three methods necessary for water rescue, and how to perform proper CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation).

Furthermore, the participants obtained understandings about project risk management as well as business risk management by engaging completely in the further details of risk communication and reporting. Instructors also addressed the importance of problem solving and decision making and how transformative leadership will help the citizen of Camparang.

Headed by Dean of College of Criminal Justice Education, Sir Eduardo A. Cablao, the CBAEG officers and selected criminology students were also part
of the said program

The ESSU Praying Mantises succeeded in an outstanding showcased of athleticism and teamwork, securing a well-deserved second place in the EVCAA 2023 basketball tournament held at the Tacloban City Astrodome. Throughout the tournament, the team proved not only their exceptional skills but also their resilience and dedication. The Astrodome echoed with cheers as the Mantises, guided by their unwavering spirit, demonstrated the true essence of sportsmanship.

Carlos Macawile and Raymark Machica, two BS Criminology students and Marlou Pabilando from College of Hospitality Management in the ESSU team, are confident and proud to represent the university through the guidance of our Dean, Sir Eduardo A. Cablao Jr., from the College of Criminal Justice Education.

JUST IN: Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) Eagles ends their EVCAA Season 2 men's basketball tournament campaign with a fourth-place finish after bowing to ESSU Praying Mantises in their battle-for-third match, this afternoon at the Tacloban Astrodome.

Diving into Excellence: ESSU Guiuan's BS Criminology Water Survival Training!

The College of Criminal Justice Education conducted a proper rescue activity when it comes to saving lives in water emergencies to BS Criminology 2nd year students on 20th of October 2023, at Marion's Place Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

Headed by Criminology Instructor, Sir Ernie Christ Jumalon, with participation of PMSG Sir Joel D. Basas and PSSG Sir Glenn L. Castil, and assistance of sir Rufino Nadonza and sir Elmer Celis, especially with the support of our dearest Dean Sir Eduardo A. Cablao Jr., the said training focused on basic swimming techniques and fundamentals of water rescue such as front approach, back approach and underwater approach as part of their coursework in First Aid and Water Survival.

With the recent case of fraternity hazing which resulted to the death of Mr. Travante, a 25 yrs. old, 4th year criminology student at PCCR, a prominent academic institutions offering B.S. Criminology, the ESSU's V.P. for Academic affairs Office issued a memorandum for the stringent patronization to the provisions of the Anti Hazing Act of 2018 to all campuses, especially to the campuses that offer Criminology Program. Our dean of CCJE, Eduardo A Cablao Jr., encourages everyone to inhibit from indulging into these kind of activities because he believes that academic institutions are supposed to be the second home of learners where peace an tranquility must thrive.

As a prerequisite in the subject DEFTAC 111- Fundamentals of Martial Arts ,students from First Year section A, B and C demonstrated a friendly sparring to showcase what they have learned in the Fundamentals of Martial Arts .The said event was initiated by Mr Peter James Raloso as the subject teacher with the supervision of the Dean of the College of Criminal Justice Education, Sir Eduardo A. Cablao Jr and with the approval of the Campus administrator, Professor Jared Harem Q. Celis.
Safety precautions were followed to ensure that NO harm or untoward major incidents happened.

IN PHOTOS| On September 26, 2023, the BS Criminology students and faculties from the College of Criminal Justice Education of ESSU Guiuan Campus attended a seminar conducted by PNP Forensic Group at Function Hall.

The main topics for the seminar were the DRUG AND CRIME SCENE AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS . Students were emphasized about the types of physical evidence, the role of first responders, as well as the importance of preserving crime scene. The Drug Awareness Campaign also highlighted the crucial role that law enforcement plays in eliminating drug-related problems in society by raising awareness of the dangers connected to using drugs and the significance of preventive efforts.

Eastern Samar State University (ESSU) brightens the Guiuan Town Plaza with the sparkle of skill and the glow of sustainability on a night of style and purpose. It is a memorable evening, and it is a pleasure to see how responsibility and creativity comes together to create "Pananglitan: A Glimpse of a Sustainable Horizon."

We experience a strong sense of solidarity and purpose under the starry skies. The purpose of ESSU Night is to celebrate our shared ideals and goals for a better, more sustainable society. It goes beyond a simple entertainment.

Our sincere appreciation goes out to the talented performers that rocked the stage, the vigilant organizers who pulled off this magnificent event, and the kind crowd who filled Guiuan Town Plaza with their unshakable support. We all managed to see a glimpse of a viable future, and it gives us hope and resolution.

Let this evening serve as a catalyst for change and a reminder that we can influence the future of sustainability via our choices and the arts. ESSU is committed to developing talented individuals who are also responsible global citizens who will continue to lead us toward a better, more sustainable future.

BS Criminology students at ESSU Guiuan Campus had the exceptional chance to broaden their horizons as they attended an informative seminar organized by the Guiuan Philippine National Police today, September 21, 2023. The seminar was held at the ESSU Guiuan Function Hall and provided a crucial platform for students to learn and augment PNP''s strategy in combatting illegal recruitment within the walls of academic institutions, being responsible in sharing and recording photos and videos with lewdness design, and basic human rights. The faculties of CCJE were also present to the said program.

Throughout the event, the PNP gives awareness regarding the R.A.9995 or Anti-photo and Video Voyeurism Act, Anti-deceptive recruitment in the youth section and brief information about Human Rights.
