Million Dollar Questions in Dentists Mind...
1. To open or not to open clinic after 3rd may ???

2. How to open & run clinic after lockdown???

lets discuss one by one...

1. To open or not to open clinic after 3rd may ???
Answer: The real game is going to begin after Lockdown...
Lockdown has 2 major aims..1) To prevent spread of disease exponentially or to control spread in community 2) Governement gets time to prepare its system to fight against disease post lockdown

Now if you all jump for opening clinic on regular basis after lockdown...you are risking your life...your family members...friends ..neighbours and patients.

I would suggest best strategy is to wait & watch for another 2 to 3 weeks after lockdown and see what happens in society...around us or at those clinics who are going to open immediately after lockdown...Either this disease will remain as it is or blast exponentially.

The best time to treat patients is actually lockdown...after that the disease might spread exponentially making it difficult to treat anyone.

Whatever financial problems u have ...remember nothinggg is as precious as ur LIFE.

2. How to open & run clinic after lockdown???
If you are planning to open clinic for only emergency cases...then let me tell you ..its not worth...taking all the risk...all the equippments...n treating patient for few thousand..is not worth at all...i have referred my 15 n more patients to someone else for treatment...they comeback or not...it really doesnt matter to me.

PPE, N 95, Face Shield...u can use any of it or all of it...still its not a safe option...dont jump for stocking PPE at ur clinics...ur dealing with a virus.
Do u know how it feels to wear standard thick PPE and work on patient?? that to without AC?? come on man.... PPE Sellers are like the Crocs in masai mara river waiting for poor Zebras & Wilderbeasts to cross the river so that they can catch them and feast on them.(yaaa those Zebras & Wilderbeasts are Dentists)...

Aerosol is a bigggg problem..right ??...but we have been treating sooo many infected cases since years... sooo many asymptomatic carriers of viral n other infections we all might have treated...how many times u were infected ????? (Doesnt it happen with u all?)...But Corona is different...its highly contagious

and if you find out some magical solution to put into chair bottle n expect aerosol will be virus free then...let me laugh...loudly... ha ha ha.... bcoz ur so called magical solution is not going to make all water droplets virus free...i bet on that. So whatever u do...virus will catch u somewher in your clinic. And its 1 virus or 100...ur screwed ..may be early later.

You cant ask patient to do Corona Test n then report...its foolishness as test may turn out false positive or false negative...apart from that patient may aquire virus anytime during treatment.

If a Dentist, His Staff or Patient turn corona positive ...Governement is anyways going to seal your clinic for 45 days... you will be closed for 45 days.

3. What will be situation of Dentistry after lockdown ???

Post lockdown there are 2 chances..
1. If condition remains same or graph comes down...our life will return to normal in few more weeks...but spikes of virus in specific areas will remain for another few months...may be a year or more...or more...(God only knows)

2. Post lockdown if its blasts...then be ready to see big disaster and imagine every worst thing that u can...and that will take many months to resolve or come down to an acceptable level.

Dentists, Dental Staff...Labs...their Staff...Delaers..their staff...everyone is at halt..entire dentistry will be freezed.

By all means we are Screwed...Somewhere less ..Somewhere more...but Screwed for Sure.

4. What Dentist should do???
You will think that i am soo negative ....but i am one of the most positive people on this planet (even my blood group is B +ve)...I am thinking absolutely Practical & Logical...
I stronglyyyy feel there is lot of Emotional & Mental negativity (one can say insecurity) haplening amongst Dentists...we all need to come out of it...come on world is not going to end if u dont open or you have to keep your clinic closed for another 1 or 2 months ( By force or choice)... Remember every dentist is going through same situation...(although level of practice and financial status of everyone may vari)...but for sure..we all closed...we all are at backfoot.

All our EMI..Rents..Expenses will be taken care ..some or other way..now or later...but we need to be strong....mentally very strong...next few months may test all ur mental strength.

Dentist need to be tremendously Patient...Wait & Watch...dont jump..dont rush ...your practice is safe...we all will be back with a bang...but have patience.

and for Godsss sake...stop expecting anything from government..like package and relief n all...Cluntry is going through all time low economy and crisis..infact Governement needs our support.....there are soooo many real needy people to be looked after by government...many poor will die if dont get food......by asking help from governement you are ridiculing yourself.

May be after few weeks or months...we all will be going through new beginning wala experience ...New time..new era..Stay positive...stay strong..god bless u all.
