How to Quarantine

First of all, your QT tank MUST have high quality water parameters at least as good as your pond water. Meaning, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, low nitrates, stable pH, cycled filter, water changes and covered tightly. You must put a fish from your pond, a canary fish, in the QT with the new fish.

1. You can QT for 3 weeks IF you keep the water temp constantly between 75-80*, never falling out of that range by even 1*

If you're only looking for parasites and not worried about KHV, you can treat the entire QT with BSDT and Fluke m

Upon arrival salt to level 0.3% and elbagin is optional to help the fish with any cuts or abrasions that may have occurred during transit

Salt does NOT take care of parasites or KHV and if you put salt in the QT, it does not mean your fish are safe to go in your main pond.
