Real heroes don't wear capes, they wear uniforms and badges.
The COVID-19 pandemic had a large impact on public transport. Many countries advised that public transport should only be used when essential; passenger numbers fell drastically, and services were reduced. Provision of a reasonable service for the much smaller number of fare-paying passengers incurred large financial losses.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) initiated “Libreng Sakay” project to help ease the burden of commuters amid the limited operations of public transportation due to the community quarantine.
We at 1st Platoon 2nd NOCPMFC, offers "LIBRENG SAKAY" to commuters having difficulity in finding vehicles to reach their destination that is safe and in line with the minimum health protocol.
"Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan" a famous qoute by our National hero Dr. Jose Rizal. We at 1st Platoon, 2nd NOCPMFC , under the supervision and guidance of our Force commamander, PLTCOL Ariel S. Artillero, encourged our YOUTH to take part in KKDAT program. KKDAT is a mobilization and information program initiated to empower the youth sector through community and school-based activities that would encourage more members of the youth sector to participate in the fight against illegal drugs and terrorism. It is also designed to insulate the youth from radicalization efforts of both the communist movement and terrorists.
It is a strategic response towards addressing the threat of illegal drugs on the Philippine youth. Through the PNP Police Community Relations platform, it seeks to empower both youth and student sectors to become resilient to radical ideologies and to protect them from being brainwashed by the CPP-NPA into abandoning their families and studies. KKDAT is envisioned to enflame the SPIRIT OF VOLUNTEERISM among the youth and student sectors.
In order to inform the community about the advantages of being vaccinated for COVID19, We at 1st Platoon, 2nd NOCPMFC distributed informative materials containing facts about the vaccination. Some of the information were as follows;
1. Vaccines train your immune system to create antibodies, just as it does when it’s exposed to a disease. However, because vaccines contain only killed or weakened forms of germs like viruses or bacteria, they do not cause the disease or put you at risk of its complications.
2. Our immune systems are designed to remember. Once exposed to one or more doses of a vaccine, we typically remain protected against a disease for years, decades or even a lifetime. This is what makes vaccines so effective. Rather than treating a disease after it occurs, vaccines prevent us in the first instance from getting sick.
The main purpose of this effort is to encourage individuals to get vaccinated and eliminate their fear for vaccination.
2nd Negros occidental provincial mobile force company, 1st platoon (Rapid Deployment Platoon) led by: PLT DARRYL E. KUHUTAN platoon leader, in partnership with ever supportive community, working towards the attainment of a safer place to live, work and do business, conducted "BARANGAYAHINAN" in line with the CPNP initiatives and mandates.
We focused our efforts not only in dealing with lawless elements and insurgencies, but also in helping the community during this time of pandemic. This was made possible through the untiring support of various stakeholders and members of the community. In our own little ways, we intend to help those who are in need.
'BARANGAYANIHAN' exemplifies the true spirit of the Filipinos who would naturally look after each other in times of disasters and in achieving a goal that would collectively benefit them. This project is also important in these times when a lot of our fellowmen lost their jobs and livelihood as a result of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic. Likewise, the Barangayanihan further strengthens the partnership and collaboration between the police and partner stakeholders. It creates awareness and amplifies the community affairs and development component in policing and forge more robust ties with the grassroots constituents, gaining their trust and willingness to work with the PNP.
