January 22, 2024, the TFBD personnel in Dalipuga Sanctuary Team continued installation of floating buoy (pataw) using rope no. 20 located on site at Centennial Park area for utilization as marking point at Marine Sanctuary boundaries. After Installed the floating buoy it was transferred manually to the Sanctuary area for safekeeping while ongoing the installation works. Asenso Iliganon.!!!

Iligan Maritime Police with the cooperation of TFBD Personnel assigned in Barangay Buru-un caught two (2) fishermen namely Ralph Bariñan and Noreil Sasam, both residents of Purok 5, Buru-un, Iligan City fishing with no permit in the vicinity water of Buru-un 8 o'clock in the morning today, October 11, 2023.

October 9, 2023 TFBD Personnel assigned in Dalipuga Sanctuary found a "Bangka" drifted and was seen floating nearby Dalipuga sanctuary, it was put aside by the Bantay Dagat Personnel so that it would not be damaged,

September 16, 2023 the TFBD personnel participated and joined the International Coastal Clean Up Day 2023 held at Poblacion, Port Area and Wet Market hosted by the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO). Asenso Iliganon!..

The TFBD Field personnel assigned in different barangays from Buru-un to Dalipuga coastal area conducted inspection/monitoring and observed the 3 days Fishing Ban period from September 14, 15 and 16, 2023. Luckily no violator apprehend during that time of operations. Asenso Iliganon!..

September 11, 2023 around 2:30pm, a loggerhead Sea Turtle or Pawikan was turned over to the TFBD Field personnel assigned in Tag ibo, Dalipuga coastal area. It was found by the Fisher folks by the shoreline. The Sea Turtle has a measurement of 79 cm Carapace Length while the Curve Carapace Lenght is 55 cm and observed on weak condition. While waiting for the authorize person, the said Sea Turtle was temporarily put and secured in a safe place for monitoring and observation. The TFBD Office continued to follow up the said concern offices for proper disposition and turnover of said Pawikan. Later the Maritime Police, CENRO Focal person Mr. Felix Maminta, City Veterinarian Officers, EMS 1/Chief Wildlife Unit DENR 10 Ms. Aisha Pacote and Wildlife Rescuer Officers arrived on site and make an examination, check up and treated the mammal with antibiotic and vitamins. The group decided to turnover the Sea Turtle to Mr. Alleson Daroy the CWR holder and Wildlife Division Rescuer Permittee at Bayug Island for safe keeping and complete treatments. As agreed once the Sea Turtle has fully recovered, it will be release back to the seawater at Marine Sanctuary in barangay Dalipuga, Iligan City. Asenso Iliganon!..
