ILIGAN CITY ELECTRICAL WIRE MANAGEMENT PLAN and STREET LIGHTING UPDATE. Details:

The City Government of Iligan is in talks with top officials from Iligan Light & Power, Inc., PLDT, and other companies that play a crucial role in the present and future of our city's electrical wiring management, to resolve this growing problem.

As we can see, there is a large amount of visible and poorly positioned "𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗵𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶 𝘄𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀" in the city from previous installations and due to the weather. This is a common problem among urbanized cities that create cable-related hazards and unwanted accidents.

To stop this issue from getting worse, we are to further discuss and plan with all stakeholders about how to handle these cables moving forward, including how to manage and install new electrical wiring.

During our surveys for the installation of our city's new street lights, a major issue was the already existing messy electrical wires and telephone cables of the city especially in the most populated areas, which may have an impact on the positions of the new LED/Solar street lights to be installed. The wiring for several main roads that will make use of new LED street lights were planned and will be installed with this in mind to avoid adding on to the poor wiring management.

𝗠𝗔𝗜𝗡 𝗥𝗢𝗔𝗗 & 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗢𝗥 𝗕𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗬 𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦

In the coming weeks, a large number of ineffective and obsolete street lights are to be removed for replacement of new LED/SOLAR lights and lots of 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲. Most of the 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀 are to be installed with new 𝗟𝗘𝗗 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 as they are brighter, last longer than the existing traditional incandescent bulbs around the city, and use up less energy. Our 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗢𝗥 𝗕𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗬𝗦 will make use of new 𝗦𝗢𝗟𝗔𝗥 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗧 𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦 as there is no additional wiring and energy costs, and it is more noticeable in interior barangays that streetlights are broken or non-existent.

The 18th Council, headed by Vice Mayor Dodong Alemania, has also passed a resolution requesting DPWH to 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀/𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘀 flush type in the national highway from Barangays Buru-un to Dalipuga.

Even though the new administration, headed by Mayor Freddie Siao, has only been in operation for around 50 days, his vision and the progressive changes it has brought about are already starting to materialize. We will wholeheartedly support the efforts to restore the magnificence of our beloved Iligan City.
