On September 26, 2024, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐨𝐳𝐚, Lumina Company's General Manager, had the incredible opportunity to attend the Region 10 YEP: Bootcamp for Young Entrepreneurs, a prestigious event spearheaded by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) at the VIP Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City.

The pitching sessions provided a unique platform for each company to highlight its identity, achievements, and aspirations. The bootcamp also fostered valuable discussions on leadership, business development, and effective management strategies, equipping each participant with practical insights to handle their businesses more efficiently.

The Department of Business and Innovation's 4th year BS Entrepreneurship students, known as 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐚, took a significant leap towards entrepreneurial success on September 5, 2024. The students officially launched their Learning Companies at Robinsons Iligan, showcasing innovative products that aim to address various market gaps.

The event was a culmination of months of hard work, dedication, and creativity. Seven Learning Companies from the BS Entrepreneurship program presented their unique offerings to investors and potential customers. From sustainable fashion to beauty and wellness products, each company demonstrated a commitment to innovation and social responsibility.

The businesses are composed of 𝐋𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐡𝐨, who upcycles used clothing to provide a fresh, distinctive, and fashionable fit. 𝐇𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐲, on the other hand, introduced premium menthol balms for relaxation and relief. Other notable ventures included 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐓𝐞 and 𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐦, which focuses on eco-friendly tote bags and pouches made from jute and old jeans, respectively. 𝐆𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚 and 𝐕𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞 offer beauty and fragrance essentials, while 𝐋𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚 showcases stunning bookmarks, keychains, and coasters made with resin.

“This course is more than an academic requirement I suppose, it is a true test of the practical entrepreneurial skills of entrepreneurship turning ideas into reality, overcoming challenges, and navigating the complexities of the business world”, said 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐀𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧 of the Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), during his message of support to the learning companies.

Batch Aquila’s launchpad event was a resounding success, culminating in a contract signing with angel investors. The students' dedication and innovative spirit are poised to make a significant impact on the local economy and beyond. As they continue to grow and develop their businesses, Batch Aquila's entrepreneurial journey is just beginning.
