You read that right—skirted up for a cause! Join us on October 20-21, 2024, at 7:00 PM at the Brgy. Villa Verde Gymnasium for a game that’s sure to be full of fun, surprises, and a powerful message.

We’re all about challenging stereotypes and spreading serious awareness about gender bias, inclusivity, and the struggles faced by crossdressers and women alike. By swapping shorts for skirts, our players will get a small taste of what it’s like for those whose clothing choices lead to judgment. It encourages men to step into the experiences of women and crossdressers, who often face judgment or bias based on their appearance.

This unique approach allows players and the people around, to better understand how something as simple as clothing can impact confidence, movement, and perception.

This isn’t just any basketball game—it’s a fun-filled way to stand up for empathy, equality, and acceptance! Whether you're a basketball fan, a community supporter, or just looking for a great time, we want you there to cheer, enjoy, and be part of something special.

Online application for the Mindanao State University - System Admission and Scholarship Examination (MSU-SASE) is now open.

Applications will be accepted from October 1 until November 15 through the official portal: https://sase.msumain.edu.ph.

According to MSU-IIT Silahis, SASE takers whose preferred campus is MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) are required to submit another application to the campus’ admission portal after.

To each of our amazing participants: thank you for your openness, courage, and commitment to personal and collective growth. Your willingness to learn, share, and support one another has created a space filled with understanding, empathy, and connection. You have truly been the heart of this training.

A special thank you to our dedicated speakers and facilitators, whose wisdom and guidance have touched our hearts and enriched our minds. Your generosity in sharing your knowledge and experiences has inspired us all to become better listeners, supporters, and friends to those around us.

We are also incredibly excited to announce that this training marks the beginning of a new chapter in our journey. The Villa Verde Peer Guidance Circle will soon be established to provide support and guidance to the youth of Villa Verde. This dedicated group of trained peer counselors will stand ready to listen, guide, and offer a safe space for their peers, fostering a community of understanding and compassion. This initiative will ensure that the spirit of empathy and support cultivated during the training continues to thrive in Villa Verde.

The Sangguniang Kabataan ng Villa Verde is deeply grateful to our partners, the Redemptorist Youth Ministry - Iligan and Redemptorist Church - Iligan.

As we part ways, let us carry with us the spirit of compassion, kindness, and understanding that we have cultivated together. Let us continue to be a source of strength and comfort for those in need, spreading hope and love in every step we take.

By becoming a peer counselor, you have the opportunity to make a real difference in someone's life and be a positive force in our barangay.
