'HARMONY IN ACTION: MELODEdukasyon' is a transformative initiative dedicated to nurturing musical talent regardless of financial barriers. Designed for individuals with a passion for music and limited resources, it offers comprehensive training from the ground up. Whether you're starting from scratch or looking to enhance existing skills, MELODEdukasyon provides a supportive environment where talent flourishes, opening doors to a future in music.

JCI Iligan Dayang Dayang proudly presents the 'Babae Kaya Mo Yan! YEAR 2' Project on March 20-27, 2024, at Bukidnon State University - Alubijid Satellite conducting wholistic initiatives dedicated to women.

1. Legal Awareness & Free Legal Consultation

In collaboration with Atty. Jesselito Zaragoza, Jr. and MSU College of Law, Iligan Extension - Sarimanok Law Clinic (SLC), series of talks were conducted on Violence Against Women and Children Act (VAWC), the Special Protection of Children against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination, and RA No. 9719 or the Magna Carta for Women to raise awareness and empower participants to advocate effectively for their rights and safety. Free legal consultation was also provided thereafter.

2. Livelihood & Entrepreneurial Training

Participants immersed themselves in diverse training modules encompassing makeup artistry, haircut techniques, and manicure/pedicure mastery. These sessions not only honed practical skills but also instilled confidence and entrepreneurial spirit among attendees. Moreover, the inclusion of rug making training provided a platform for creativity and sustainable income generation.

Through 'Babae Kaya Mo Yan!', we celebrate the boundless potential of women, fostering a safe community where empowerment and opportunity thrive.

On this Labor Day, let’s celebrate the hard work, dedication, and resilience of the Filipino workforce. 𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝑨𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏: JCI Iligan Dayang Dayang in collaboration with JCI Kulintang joined forces to empower young voices through a one-day voice lesson/workshop with Coach Heidi at Versatile Music Studio.

In a symphony of generosity, JCI-IDD also sustained a two-month music workshop, nurturing 30 kids in the art of musical instruments. Medals and certificates adorned the talented, celebrating their musical journey. 🏅🎓 Special thanks to Versatile Music Studio and local treasurer Yoradyl del Castillo for orchestrating dreams into melodies. 🌟

JCI Iligan Dayang Dayang helped in organizing this year's 𝑲𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒅𝒚𝒂 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝑫𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑴𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒚 𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕. This activity unfolded throughout the entire day of September 27, 2023, with a collaborative effort involving JCI Iligan, JCI Kulintang, and JCI Iligan Maria Cristina.

JCI IDD's 2023 LO President, Chantal Dumaguin, was one of the board of judges in the streetdancing showdown competition as well.

As a customary practice in the fiesta celebration, JCI Iligan Dayang-Dayang took the lead in organizing a fundraising initiative known as the "𝑳𝒆𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒏 𝒔𝒂 𝑭𝒊𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒂 𝒑𝒂-𝒓𝒂𝒇𝒇𝒍𝒆 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒂 𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒍𝒍!", a raffle during the Kasadya Street Dancing and Merry Making Contest event on September 27, 2023, held at Anahaw Amphitheater. For a mere 20 pesos, participants could purchase one raffle ticket for the opportunity to win a festive Lechon. Winners of the raffle were announced during the event with a whole Lechon as the grand prize, three (3) lechon bellies and two (2) twenty-five kilos of rice as the consolation prizes.

JCI Iligan Dayang Dayang illuminates the darkness in Barangay Panoroganan, a remote area in Iligan City, with their heartfelt initiative '𝑻𝑨𝑹𝑨! 𝑺𝑲𝑾𝑬𝑳𝑨 𝑵𝑨!'.

On the morning of August 21, 2023, at Panoroganan Elementary School, history was made as the first sole chapter of JCI Philippines that stepped into the lives of 150 children and our Muslim brothers and sisters. In the absence of electric light, JCI Iligan Dayang Dayang became a beacon of hope, delivering not just bags and school supplies but a promise that even in the most forgotten corners, compassion can light up the world. Each step they took in that unlit terrain was a step towards a brighter future, proving that kindness knows no boundaries and that every community, no matter how remote, deserves to be seen and uplifted.

It has been a busy June for the ladies of JCI IDD!

Although it took us time to begin our JCI year, we started all set and hyped-up right after induction. 💪 With the right people and leaders in place, JCI Iligan Dayang-Dayang will surely be back on track and on top. 🙌 Making sure our first quarter will be fruitful, our first General Monthly Meeting (GMM) with the ladies of JCI Iligan Dayang-Dayang was definitely a gathering of creative and brilliant minds headed by our maSIDLAKon LO president, Chantal Faith Dumaguin.

JCI Iligan Dayang-Dayang, in partnership with MSU College of Law Iligan Extension Legal Aid Clinic - Sarimanok Law Clinic (EILAC-SLC), Department of Health and Kiwanis International, successfully conducted Medico Legal Mission providing pro-bono services to clients at Kalubihon Elementary School, Dalipuga, Iligan City on June 24, 2023, Saturday.

In line with the Sustainable Development Goal 16, JCI Iligan Dayang-Dayang recognizes the importance of ensuring equal access to justice and building strong institutions that uphold the rule of law. Championing Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions through medical and legal services, JCI IDD has taken on the responsibility to address key issues in promoting access to justice.

On June 14, 2023, JCI Iligan Dayang-Dayang, together with our stakeholders, conducted a Medical and Outreach Program during Araw ng Kiwalan at Brgy. Kiwalan Gymnasium, Iligan City. This event brought together medical professionals, volunteers, and resources to provide essential healthcare services to the constituents of Brgy. Kiwalan.

Access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, yet many communities face significant healthcare disparities. JCI Iligan Dayang-Dayang's Medical and Outreach Program aims to bridge this gap by bringing healthcare services directly to communities. Through partnerships with local healthcare providers, government stakeholders, doctors, nurses, and volunteers, this JCI Got Heart activity ensures communities receive the care they deserve, helping to alleviate suffering and improve overall well-being. By building strong networks and advocating health literacy, JCI Iligan Dayang-Dayang aims to create lasting change and empower communities to take ownership of their healthcare needs.

JCI Iligan understands that a one-time Medical Mission cannot fully address long-standing healthcare challenges. By fostering health literacy, JCI IDD envisions community members with the tools necessary for long-term well-being, promoting a culture of self-care and proactive health management.

ARAL LET'S, TRABAHO GETS!
JCI Iligan Dayang Dayang

Aral Let's, Trabaho Gets! is a 3-month long beauty care training series that commenced on May 27, 2023, at Iligan Fashion Institute and Trade Inc. As advocates to empower women, this project aims to provide skills training to these 20 deserving women who applied and were selected for the scholarship and match them with potential employers upon completion of the said training.

By equipping women with skills, knowledge, and confidence, Aral Let's, Trabaho Gets series aims to break down barriers, promote economic empowerment, and create a more inclusive and equal world. Empowering women through training is a key step towards building a brighter and more equitable future for all.
