It's simple to lose sight of the value and beauty of our surroundings in a world where activity is nonstop. However, let us pause for a moment to consider the importance of loving and caring for the world in which we live.

Understanding the interdependence of ecosystems and all living things is a necessary part of loving our surroundings. It entails realizing that every action we take, no matter how tiny, has a significant effect on the condition and vitality of our world.

We are advocating for a better future by actively taking part in environmental projects and clean-up activities. We are demonstrating our dedication to protecting the diversity and beauty of our surrounding natural environment. We are making sure that the marvels of nature will continue to be enjoyed by generations to come.

The Provincial Public Employment Service Office in partnership with Northern Iloilo State University will be holding its Student Job Fair for ALL GRADUATES on March 31, 2023, from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Covered Gym, Northern Iloilo State University-Main Campus, Estancia, Iloilo.

The registration will start at 7:30 A.M. Kindly fill out the attached Jobseeker Registration Form and bring the following Requirements:

VEW continues with lecture on integrity

Today, March 14, Mr. Mario de los Reyes caught the Victorinians' attention with his true to life inspirational speech about Integrity.

He cited various quotes which defined integrity that many could relate with.

"Integrity is synonymous to honesty," he said. "Doing the right thing at all times in all circumstances,” Mr. de los Reyes added.

He shared about how he fought for integrity despite the cruelness of various situations he faced.

"Stand for what you think is right, no matter what the situation is,” Mr. de los Reyes uttered.

He also mentioned the seven traits that a person with integrity must bear in mind: (1) Expressing gratitude to others (2) Valuing honesty and openness (3) Taking responsibility for your actions, good and bad (4) Respecting yourself and others around you no matter where you are (5) Helping those in need without sacrificing your own health (6) Demonstrating reliability and trustworthiness, and (7) Showing patience and flexibility, even when unexpected obstacles show up.

He concluded his lecture with the words "Integrity implies being truthful and honest to yourself.”

The Values Emphasis Week with the theme “Promoting best character for a better school community" started today, March 13 and kicked off with the topic self-control discussed by Mr. Elizer Segovia.

Segovia tackled about how important self control is and it can be improved. He stated five factors in improving one's self control: (1) Obey the word of God, (2) Discipline yourself, (3) Have a sober mind, (4) Always listen to your conscience, and (5) Control your emotions.

"Ari ko di subong kay may purpose ang Ginoo sa inyo...Indi ako ang makapabag-o sang inyo self l-control, ara ina sa inyo. Ari lang ako di para ihambal sa inyo kung ano ang self-control", Segovia further elaborated.

He also mentioned that if the Victorinians avoid temptations, it will help them in achieving and improving their control over themselves.

The golden rule "Do not do unto others what you would not want others to do unto you" was also used by him as a guide in controlling oneself.

"Halongan mo ang imo paminsaron kag tagipusuon. Kung ano ang imo always gina panumdom amo man ina ang maging kabuhi mo", said by Segovia as he ended his speech in self-control.

The discussion was attended by the College of Hospitality Management at 10:00am to 11:00am and the Industrial Technology and the Criminology departments at 03:00pm to 04:00 in the afternoon.

The Values Emphasis Week is spearheaded by the Guidance Services Office and Values Restoration Office. This daily activity will continue until March 17, 2023.
