The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) successfully concluded the implementation of the Courses for Literacy on the Internet and Computer Knowledge Project (Project CLICK) in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental. This project was carried out by the ICT Literacy & Competency Development Bureau (ILCDB) and aimed to provide comprehensive training on internet literacy and computer knowledge to Brgy. Mansilingan.

Present during the Turnover Ceremony and Ceremonial Signing of the Deed of Donation were DICT representatives through Dir. Ralph Joseph C. Moncatar, Regional Director, and Engr. Maria V. Hernando, ILCDB Project Focal.

The Barangay Mansilingan and the Lone District of Bacolod City were the Project's Institutional Partners for this implementation. Representing the Lone District of Bacolod City was the representative of the Lone District of Bacolod City, Hon. Greg G. Gasatay, while Hon. Franz Tionko, Brgy. Captain of Brgy. Mansilingan, represented the Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

The digital devices were through the efforts of Hon. Greg G. Gasatay, representative of the Lone District of Bacolod City, who was also present during the event.

The Digital Literacy Training served as a platform for DICT and ILCDB to capacitate the barangay workers to thrive in a digital world, enhancing their personal and professional capabilities through educating them on the proper ways to use the digital devices and software installed such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and becoming a responsible digital citizen. DICT also believes that learning is lifelong, and the barangay worker's experiences during the training will be shared and cascaded to their barangay.

The 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 (𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐓), through the 𝐈𝐂𝐓 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐮 (𝐈𝐋𝐂𝐃𝐁), has completed the implementation of the 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 (𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐂𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐊) with its selected teacher beneficiaries from different departments of Iloilo City National High School. The implementation occurred at Iloilo City National High School, Molo, Iloilo City.

On August 27-30, the ILCDB Core implemented the Digital Literacy Training at Iloilo City National High School for selected teachers, collaborating with the Office of USWAG Ilonggo Party-list represented by Cong. Jojo Ang Jr.

The implementation was made possible through the collaboration of the USWAG Ilonggo Party-list, DepEd Schools Division Office of Iloilo City, Iloilo City National High School, and Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region 6.

The DICT, through its ICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau, conducted a Training-of-Trainers for Python Programming.

The training is designed to equip the twenty-five(25) participants from various provinces of Region VI with both advanced Python programming skills and effective teaching methodologies.

The training focuses on deepening their understanding of key concepts like object-oriented programming, advanced data structures, and functional programming while also preparing them to effectively teach these topics. Participants will learn how to communicate complex ideas, manage a classroom, and adapt their teaching strategies to diverse learning styles, ensuring they can successfully train others in Python programming.

The training was conducted at HRT Conference Room, Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U), Iloilo City last July 22-26, 2024.

The DICT R6 through its ICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau (ILCDB) is conducting a 5-day Python Programming Training-of-Trainers at Iloilo Science and Technology University on July 22-26, 2024.

𝗗𝗜𝗖𝗧 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟲 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗵 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰

The much-awaited ILCDB National Digital Challenge 2024 has finally come to a close. The hybrid setup of the competition virtually led by the Competency, Certification, and Courseware Development Division (C3D2) was conducted at the DICT Regional Office 6.

To recall, Roznen R. Soberano of Central Philippine State University - Main Campus emerged first during the Local Digital Challenge (LDC) and tasked to represent Region 6 in the National Digital Challenge (NDC).

Among 16 regions, Soberano finished fifth overall, trailing behind Region 5, NCR, Region 3, and Region 4B, who is also the back-to-back champion of NDC following their triumph from last year.

Soberano's win during the LDC led to the back-to-back victory of Negros Occidental in the Regional Elimination Round, which served as a huge accomplishment for the province.

From the entire DICT Region 6, we would like to extend our gratitude to Soberano for making it this far in representing the Region. Congratulations!

Twenty-five (25) scholars graduated upon completion of their 18-day technical training and assessment on Contact Center Services NC II (144 hours). The program, through the DICT-ILCDB, is in partnership with the Call Center Academy, Philippine Call Center Institute Inc. Iloilo (PCCI), and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Region 6.

The graduation ceremony took place at TESDA VI Training Room, with the presence of DICT Executives Regional Director Ralph Joseph C. Moncatar, TOD OIC Jimuel E. Española, Iloilo PFO Engr. John Felix T. Torino, and ILCDB Focal Engr. Maria V. Hernando. Also present during the event were TESDA VI FASD Chief Maria Mabel Biyo and PCCI Trainer Ms. Arlen G. Olivar, wherein both were shown gratitude and appreciation for being training and program partners.

The DICT Region VI, through the ILCDB and DICT Negros Occidental Provincial Field Office, recently conducted the ILCDB Provincial Summit 2024 — Negros Occidental last June 19, 2024 at 2nd Floor, Food Terminal Market of Negros Occidental, San Juan St., Bacolod City. This event aligned with DICT's commitment and in celebration of 2024 ICT Month with the theme "Bayan Digital: Ang Bagong Pilipinas". This event aligned with DICT's commitment and celebrated 2024 ICT Month under the theme "Bayan Digital: Ang Bagong Pilipinas". It showcased DICT and ILCDB trainings, programs, and services available to our valued stakeholders.

Attendees included ICT Program Heads, Deans, Instructors, Department Heads, Coordinators, Administrators, and IT Officers from various Private Higher Education Institution (PHEIs), State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Local Colleges and Universities (LUCs), and National Government Agency across Negros Occidental. Highlights of the summit featured a message from our Regional Director, Ralph Joseph Moncatar, a welcome remarks by Sir Jimuel E. Española, OIC, Technical Operations Division, a presentation by Ms. Gian Joy Catiempo on ILCDB Program and Activities, and closing remarks by Engr. Maria V. Hernando. The event also featured a ceremonial signing to signify collaborative efforts with DICT Region VI.

The ILCDB conducted the Diagnostic Examination to the students, alumni, faculty, and staff of West Visayas State University - Calinog Campus (WVSU-CC) at the DICT Iloilo Provincial Field Office.

The examination conduct was made possible through the collaboration and approved request by WVSU CC Director of the School of ICT, Dr. Rose May Cora Lagon.

This is the first partnership between DICT and WVSU-CC on the conduct of ICT examinations in hopes of strengthening the ICT curriculum of the satellite campus.

The goal of the two-day event is to provide free and quality ICT services to the constituents of Passi City and nearby municipalities. The event is also open to those who wish to visit the DTC and avail various services provided.

Through the ILCDB, the DICT hosted the Local Digital Challenge (Elimination Round) for Region 6. The participants were nominated from various government entities across the region.

The winner will represent Region 6 in the upcoming National Digital Challenge on June 26, 2024.

To ensure the increasing competent Filipino workforce, the Department, through the program, 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 (𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐊) Initiative (formerly DJPH), aims to foster the development of a skilled workforce in the field of ICT by not only addressing the issue of unemployment but also in promoting digital entrepreneurship and empower individuals and communities to participate in the digital economy.

ILCDB R6, in partnership with Call Center Academy (CCA) and Philippine Call Center Institute (PCCI), launched the second leg of SPARK in Western Visayas at the Digital Transformation Center (DTC) in Zamora Street, Iloilo City. The training course is Contact Center Services NC II for various near hires, graduating students, and young professionals across Region 6.

The kickoff was graced by the presence of Engr. John Felix Torino of Iloilo PFO, Engr. Maria V. Hernando of ILCDB R6, and Mrs. Relyn Nuñez of Tech4ED-DTC. The event also gave a platform for Ms. Arlen Olivar, the Resource Person, to orient the participants onboard the training.

The SPARK Technical Training for Near Hires has 25 scholars, all expected to finish the course and gain their certificates this June 2024.

⭐ Have a 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 to finish the training
