The Bavarian Hefeweißbier - The most German of German beers

Brewing with the added ingredient of wheat and with a lesser concentration of barley is an ancient and unique tradition that originates from southern Germany, specifically from the beautiful region of Bavaria. Wheat beer is of course, the most German of German beers.

Oettinger Hefeweißbier is a top-fermented, unfiltered wheat beer with a naturally cloudy and golden appearance. The “Hefe” prefix means yeast and “weiß” derives from the German term for wheat.

The original Oettinger Hefeweißbier has an outstanding fruity and sweet flavor of cloves and spices with a hint of banana aroma and a tart edge. All Oettinger wheat beer varieties are refreshing, perfectly carbonated and ideal for thirst quenching in a nice and pleasant atmosphere

Wheat beer is also referred to as “Hefeweizen”, “Weizenbier” or “Weissbier” (white beer) because traditionally most beers were a dark and heavy brew. By brewing with wheat rather than with barley, the beer achieves a lighter color.

Certainly, all Oettinger wheat beer varieties are brewed in accordance with the high quality requirements of the “German Purity Law” of 1516 and the finest Bavarian brewing tradition to create an extraordinary naturally cloudy wheat beer.
